Time for Dems to connect the dots!
During the last five years, we have witnessed numerous egregious acts perpetuated by agents of the * administration ranging from an illegal war, FEMA failure, FDA Plan B fiasco, Enron, Plamegate, Abramoff, torture, CPB violations, DSM, stolen elections, tax cuts for the wealthy, service cuts for the rest of the needy, etc., etc., etc. However, it seems that we attack these in a piecemeal fashion (actually we whine for a while, then the * administration distracts the populace with the threat du jour. We never successfully connect these things together and most importantly tie them to their architects in the White House.

Think about the CPB case. Tomlinson repeatedly broke the law. But who put him in power? And whose agenda was he pushing with these illegal actions? Same with Brownie, same with Libby, and so on...

We have to provide a more coherent message that focuses the responsibility on the idealogues occupying the White House. Furthermore, we need to offer a message of hope (thanks John Edwards for reminding us of this) and we need to recognize that there was more to the Clinton years than blow jobs--that they were truly prosperous for America at home and abroad compared to the debacle of the last five years.

Ok, I will stop... Cheers ya'll

1. Exactly. Many Americans can't comprehend that the same matrix of
lies, illegal actions and conspiracy that they take for granted in less-developed nations could *possibly* happen in the good ol' US of A. They'll sit there and watch the History Channel night after night, program after program about how Hitler fooled the German populace, how he subverted the government to his will, how he enacted laws to make his illegal acts legal and launched wars and commissioned murders to cover his tracks. They'll sit there and connect the dots on how it was all intertwined and how removing one part of the construct would have caused the whole enterprise to collapse. And they'll believe it.

Then, point out that the exact same thing is happening here - and in an age with much more sophisticated propaganda and media tools available - and you're suddenly off the deep end; could never happen; etc.

The lie told in plain sight is the most effective lie of all.

So, yes - Dems need to connect the dots. A good place to start?: the PNAC blueprint that set the whole thing in motion and has been guiding bushco's actions since Day One.

2. I think you nailed it
Now we just need to find a democrat to crawl out of the woodwork and take a stand.

3. I think that honorable men and women have tried, but
they become amazingly timid. I fully believe that John Kerry is a good and courageous individual, but like Al Gore, he completely failed to bring the fight to *. There seem to be a few bright lights... Boxer, Feingold, Waxman, Levin, but they are working against a tenacious and ruthless Republican political machine, a docile media, and a frightened populace who often seem unable or unwilling to do much in the way of "cognitive-heavy-lifting"

On the other hand, I haven't gone out and set the world on fire lately either (other than my DU star!).

4. Congrats on the star
I think what keeps the dems down now is the b*sh crime family's MO. Anyone who goes against them will be slimed or offed. The media needs to change and the good folks need to group together. There is strength in numbers. Some dems have actually gone over to the dark side and need to be weeded out.

5. Thanks DFL
I agree - the *mafia is ruthless, but it appears that a preponderance of evidence is starting to slow them down, show cracks in the armor, and produce infighting. Hopefully, their implosion will not destroy the country or the world...
