Woodward isn't the only story today. It's a new world this morning.
Just checked LBN, going down the page:

Bush Social Security Plan Laid to Rest (It's dead, folks. They failed.)
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/15/AR2005111501408.html

GOP senator hits Bush for attacking war critics; Hints Congress endorsing another Vietnam by staying silent (Senator Hagel, who actually went to war, is blasting Bush for politicizing a war. He's apparently not liking Rove's offensive against Dems -- which Bush is, of course, waging in front of audiences of vets and troops.)
http://rawstory.com/news/2005/Hagel_blasts_Bush_for_attacking_war_1115.html

Document Says Oil Chiefs Met With Cheney Task Force (They lied as recently as last week. Haul them back before Congress, and this time make them raise their hands.)
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/15/AR2005111501842.html

Tide Turning in GOP Senators' War View (Quote from the article: "Republicans are walking away from the President.")
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/15/AR2005111501525.html

Senate Group to Unveil Oil-Saving Plan (The Senate group includes environmentalists, evangelical Christians, and conservatives. Who-da thunk it? Better than laying waste to ANWR.)
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2005/11/15/national/w225956S40.DTL

Broadcasting ex-chief played politics-report (Rove's buddy Tomlinson, who tried to make Public Broadcasting an arm of the Republican propaganda machine, is out, having broken numerous federal laws in this effort -- and may be yet another Bushie in court, and maybe in jail.)
http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2005/11/15/public_broadcasting_ex_chief_targeted_in_report/?rss_id=Boston.com+%2F+News

All in all, a good day for chickens, coming home to roost.

15. I only see 3 senate seats that we could take with confidence
Ohio, PA, and Rhode Island. There's a thread somewhere in the DU campaigns forum on this, but this is my hunch.

14. That's another simmering story. Yesterday was the first day...
to sign up, and I don't think it went well. It's a shame there's not a plan that will really work, and help.

21. I heard on Air America today that battles have begun about Medicare D
-- some in Congress are saying the application deadline should be extended because everything is so confusing that it is slowing applicants down and some conservatives are saying that it should be cut for all except the poorest people (because of its huge cost).

The Bitter Battle of the Bottle (of pills) has begun again!

22. What is the appropriate song for those of us having an attack of paranoia
upon learning of all of this good news?

You see the Rethugs are crumbling on these issues so that Dems won't win the 2006 elections. <-- This paranoid thought really did pop into my brain when I saw this thread.

:eyes:

"Paranoia May Destroy 'Ya" -- would that be the right song?

19. There hasn't been a better year for Democrats since Clinton
Edited on Wed Nov-16-05 02:09 PM by Heaven and Earth
Last November, we reached rock bottom, but we've picked ourselves up off the mat, and we're getting our way, even though we are in the minority. It's good practice for when we totally take over next November. All your House and Senate are belong to us! I can't wait to see our ideas getting vetoed repeatedly. Then we run on keeping the obstructionists out of the oval office in '08. It's an exciting time to be a Democrat!
