Poll question: Du members Military Affiliation
Don't know if this poll has been done before. I'm just curious about military affiliation of Du'ers.

5. No, But I Support the Troops
I send at least one care package every week to a group of soldiers that I find through AnySoldier.com.

http://www.anysoldier.com/WhereToSend/

I have gotten friends, relatives and co-workers to do the same.

The war is an abstraction to a lot of people, especially Bushies. If they only knew someone fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan, however, they might give a damn about what we're doing to our military men and women.

Hint, hint... People on DU should be doing this too.

9. Thanks very much
I served one tour in a combat zone and nothing boosts morale more than a box from home; it really didn't matter what was in it but most of the stuff was useful and needed (and it came from "home.) That and a long, hot shower.

13. Physically unqualified but from a Navy family
Edited on Wed Nov-16-05 01:54 PM by slackmaster
My stepfather was a World War II veteran. So was one of my grandfathers.

My brother, a cousin, and an uncle are or were Naval officers.

If not for my vision problems I might be a Naval officer myself.
