Everyone could clearly see that widespread election fraud cause the legitmate results of election 2004 to be overturned. Kerry really won. Bush really lost.

Other than prosecuting a few local officials, then what? What could anyone do about it? Who would be empowered to do anything about it?

2. Bush stays in office. Electoral College makes the decision and
they're not really even bound to reflect the vote totals.

3. to the presidential office, legally, nothing.
the magic of the us system is that the president is chosen by the electors.
nothing else matters once that is done.

of course the states have laws determining how the electors are supposed to do their business.

and all of the other races may be up for challenges. but the president and VP. no.

4. State and local officials, boards of elections...the public
If it was stolen in 2004, which is was, then that's the publics out...it's not our fault this guy is ruining America...lets get rid of him.

The logic is compelling and also self-satisfying.

Here's part of your proof

6. People won't do anything about it
Edited on Wed Nov-16-05 04:06 PM by Selatius
People are too comfortable. Only desperate people do things, and people often don't become desperate unless they suffer agonizing and crushing poverty and deprivation. There's always a small minority of people who always speak up and act out, but in general, the majority does not do that unless they are feeling tremendous pain.

If you want a good example of what I am talking about, just look at Venezuela. The majority of Venezuela lived below the poverty line. The middle class represented a minority of the population, and the upper elite held all the power in that nation until somebody did something about the inequality. Now the people down there are awake, and they are angry at their masters who have abused them for so long, but it must be noted nothing happened until most of the country was reduced to poverty. Also talk to the Ukrainians or the Georgians. They know.
