Mean that if Cheney and Rice resigned then Pelosi would become Vice-President?

1. No, if Cheney resigns or dies, then Bush can appoint a VP of his choice.

5. No, the presidential succession only works if the president can no longer

6. There isn't a line of succession for the VP slot like for presidency
If the standing VP is out for whatever reason, the president appoints a new one... Gee we could get a real dilly judging from past bush appointments.
