Dick Cheney: "Democrats, ...dishonest and reprehensible,"...WTF?
Edited on Thu Nov-17-05 01:05 PM by Blue_Roses
 This just goes beyond the pale of hypocrisy. I woke up this morning to his speech and it has been stuck in my craw all morning. Of all the audacity. Here is a man, who lies as easily as he farts and he stands there with the "grrrr...I'm Dick Cheney and how dare they speak up about my war," crap! :eyes: Forget that he has sent thousands to their death for no warranted reason other than his greed. He truly is the epitome of the devil.

What a DICK!

If there was ever a time to KEEP UP THE ATTACKS on his lies, it's definitely now. The man is nervous!

1. Keep up the pressure
I'm sure he's very nervous about the convening of another GJ by Fitzgerald. And let's not forget all the military friends Murtha has-they have other friends who will keep up the attack, especially if Bushco does anything to try and swiftboat Murtha.

No wonder his wife wrote lesbian romance novels.

Unfortunately for his side, Cheney does not come across well when he plays offense. He's simply offensive.

I would give just about anything to get Cheney on a lie detector test. Or any of these scumbags. It would be a hilarious sight to see just who are the dishonest ones.

You need to have emotional responses to have a lie detector work.

7. old rovian trick.....flip the charge:
Kerry and Max Cleland are cowards and traitors, Democrats are dishonest and unpatriotic and big spenders....yada,yada. They knowingly accuse us of their own worst characteristics. It used to work. It will be interesting to see if the public still buys the message and the messangers.

11. one again Dick is projecting
he, like his trained ape, tend to transfer their own selves onto others. He is, when he calls people dishonest and reprehensible, he's talking about himself. Listen to the ape when he talks about his enemies. It's rather frightening.

22. Did you happen to catch Bush comments on bin Ladin a few weeks ago?
Edited on Thu Nov-17-05 01:13 PM by Marr
It was the most classic case of projection I'd ever heard. He said bin Laden was- and I'm paraphrasing here, 'a son of priviledge who sends others to die for his beliefs'.

The whole speech was like that. It was almost funny.

29. nobody does it better (projection)
Every accusation they hurl paints a word picture of their own psychic landscape. They describe a world in which they are surrounded by liars, killers, traitors, torturers, the greedy, the godless, the immoral, the perverted, rapists, cheaters, looters, etc. But every self righteous accusation that spews from their twisted mouths is a description of themselves. They can't ever look inside to see the squirming hellishness of their own beings. Instead they proclaim the undeniable evil comes from somewhere/someone else.

And they can do it with a straight face, that's the part that amazes me most of all.

21. Pray that he gets alot of coverage. The man is despised, and
anyone he points at and calls "enemy" will be viewed favorably by alot of people.

If Hitler came on TV and told you he hated Marvin Schlepp from Cincinatee, you'd probably assume that Marvin must be a pretty decent guy.

24. I know it's crazy, because so much of the carnage, literal and
metaphorical, that has happened under this regime can be attributed to Cheyney, but when I read what he says, I can't help laughing - however promptly I try to stifle such grotesquely inappropriate levity.

When a very wily person talks like an idiot, there's something comical about it. I mean he doesn't give the impression, as Woodward does, that the more crazy his words, the more he believes them, and he's really your grandma, with your best interests always to the fore in all his thoughts. If Cheyney wasn't kind of pathological and you could keep him off the booze (I presume he still likes a tincture of the vino collapso, what with having a chauffeur these days), I reckon he could be hilarious company. A wicked sense of humour. To match an awful lot else, I suppose.

25. Dems should be referring to this administration as 'reprehensible'
and other equally condemnatory terms, frequently. And they should be using the word 'liars' too, instead of always talking about how they 'mislead' us into war.

If it's acceptable for reprehensible liars to talk that way, it ought to be acceptable for the good guys to talk that way.

Oh, and I'd really like to hear some Senators or Congressmen tell him to 'Go cheney himself' over this. As in, 'The vice-president is calling *us* dishonest? He can go cheney himself as far as I'm concerned. We're not the people who lied America into a war.'

30. while I agree they should continue to stand
up to him, there's a fine line to dropping to his level. It would be hard for me not to tell him to go "Cheney himself" so I'm glad the Dems are figuring a way to do this without sinking to his slime.

28. The scalded cat defense never works
He has to prove he's not a liar now. Screeching and screaming about the meanies who called him a liar is irrelevent. 60 percent of the country thinks he lied. It's up to him to prove he didn't. And he can't.

What used to work doesn't any more. People are "on" to his game of fear and bullying tactics. The more he is seen as a liar by the American people, the more desperate he will become.

32. It's Over 60% Now
I agree with you totally. This defense is inherently flawed, in that the attacking others (Joe Wilson) is what got them into this mess. Now they think that attacking will get them out of it. Patently stupid.

33. This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen
the Republicans do. And that's saying something. Is he expecting war critics to suddenly say "Wow, I was dishonest & reprehensible for asking questions about Iraq! Thank you, Cheney, O leader, I'll never doubt you again." Apparantly, and that says a whole lot about how deluded they are. The vast majority of Americans supported this President before the poll numbers fell to 35% - so he's basically telling everyone who originally supported the war that they are traitors now. Does he really think that this will make these people want to support him? Or is he just trying to rev up that 19% who actually like him into a mob. Or is he just that mean & bitter that he can't help himself. (I vote choice C).

Their methods have always been to accuse their opposition of exactly what they're already doing or planning to do in the near future. This is no different, although noticably more ad hominem than usual.

Note this line in the story:

You're damn straight the criticism will continue, until this filthy Administration is dead and buried.
