Murtha coming out against Iraq = John Wayne opposing Vietnam..

It's that profound. It means:

1.) Bush has lost the support of a huge part of the military.

2.) Bush has lost the support of central PA, one of the most conservative regions of the country.

This is big.

2. I grew up in Johnstown, PA. Murtha did a pro-Vietnam assembly...
for my Junior High in 1968...

This is a sea change.

4. It seems really significant until Kerry was asked about it......and then

I sort of saw it as a "Party Split" the one we've been dealing with on DU for awhile.

But, I thought it was great that Murtha came out. And, that Matthews and Blitzer covered it.

Let's hope the dialog continues. We who protested before the Iraq Invasion who Weren't Anti-War...but Anti-Iraq Invasion are always glad to hear folks who are just waking up. Maybe they can make the final "difference" and get us to hell out of there and bring our National Guard Home....get the Contractors both Military and Corporatist out and leave those Iraqi's to chart their own fate. We built America after we threw the Brits out..and it's never been easy...Civil War and all that...but it's up to the Iraqi's. We have stuff to do here back in America our vast Continent. We have needs at HOME...

5. Kerry's irrelevant
It so clear that he goes where the wind blows and wants it both ways, I'm sick of his prestigitation shit.
