Mc Cllellan compares Murtha to Michael Moore
Breaking on CNN ... White House press secretary Scott McClellan, in Asia traveling with the president, has issued a response statement comparing Murtha's expressed views today to those of "Michael Moore."
http://www.boomantribune.com/story/2005/11/17/20138/341

Murtha, widely known as a "hawk" on defense, startled the nation today with his call for a withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. (See "Seismic Shift by Influential Hawk," and a video at Crooks & Liars of Murtha's speech today, or video at Bradblog.com. Also check out Raw Story's report.)

"'Congressman Murtha is a respected veteran and politician who has a record of supporting a strong America,' said White House press secretary Scott McClellan. 'So it is baffling that he is endorsing the policy positions of Michael Moore and the extreme liberal wing of the Democratic Party'."

"'The eve of an historic democratic election in Iraq is not the time to surrender to the terrorists,' McClellan said. 'After seeing his statement, we remain baffled -- nowhere does he explain how retreating from Iraq makes America safer'." (From the AP/Yahoo, thanks to Nag and numediaman.)

3. Bashing a congressman respected from both parties using his tired
rhetoric of "liberal" and "left" baiting will backfire big time. This will just make it more apparent to those in the middle how caught up in their own endless political rhetoric and lies the Bushbies are.

4. The only thing that is baffling is how Scott McClellan can still
manage to lie with a straight face.

5. Scotty must not have listened to Murtha
that's why he's 'baffled' because Murtha did indeed say how retreating from Iraq would make America safer and I agree with him. In fact, had we not gone there in the first place, America would be safer, and certainly the Iraqi people would be, the over 100,000 of them who are now dead.

I love Michael Moore. When I went to see Fahrenheit 9/11 we met a sailor whose ship was docked for 24 in the harbor near where I live. He was stunned by the movie. He told us 'I'm going to have to go home and read some more. This has been an awakening for me'.

We often forget how much this administration did not want that movie to get out. They really do hate the truth ~ MM wasn't afraid of them. That's why they hate him.

I like to remember those who would not back down when the atmosphere was so bad in this country that it was practically dangerous to oppose this war.

Michael Moore deserves our thanks for refusing to be silenced and for educating so many people that the media had failed.

He became the media at the point when our entire media was AWOL. So, thanks go to MM, he is a true American patriot and Murtha I'm sure, will take Scotty's silly freeper comment as a compliment.
