---but seriously, i never heard of the guy till yesterday, and now he's my hero! a democrat with credibility and guts, what a novel idea. it takes people like john murtha to break down the walls of tyranny, so that others can walk through to freedom.

JOHN MURTHA, american hero, true patriot, bold, decisive, unconcerned for his political career, man enough to admit he was wrong, man enough to go against the grain, sort of like THE FOUNDING FATHERS.

i've built a small shrine to him in my living room.

The guy is my hero too. Why is it that it's always the oldest people in congress, who have the brass it takes, to take on the GOP hit people? First Mr Byrd and Mr Kennedy and now our new hero! Mr Murtha is a patriot of the higest order and will be remembered in the history books, because he stepped up to the plate when the country needed him.

We old codgers have got to stick together!

Come we mix up some Geratol and Whoop-Ass Magnum and get ready to rumble!

8. I saw some great footage of him on my local news today.
I don't have cable or satellite.

He was say something like how he love it when someone who never served in war or someone who had 5 deferments won't even listen to those who have.

12. John Murtha is someone who works for his district and does his
best to serve the people who vote for him.

I have met him many times and know some of his volunteers and aides and they are all great people...

13. Also from Western Pa and have a ton of respect for Murtha;
However, for those jumping on his bandwagon without knowing him ,you'll find that he's probably more Conservative than you would like. He's no Kerry or Dean. I've have seen him help Head Start , community development and veterans affairs in my district. and hold him in great respect.

I don't agree with him on issues but overall Murtha is a working man's democrat.
