Scott McClennan's attempt to demonize John Murtha by associating him with Michael Moore would seem to indicate how out of touch they are.

It's like they are stuck on a few basic riffs that they have to keep repeating, regardless of how situations change as time moves on.The GOP message is starting to sound increasingly like a Golden Oldie.

A majority of the US now believes the Iraq War was a mistake. It's not the "fringe left" anymore, and most people could care less about whether or not they have a similar view as Michael Moore anymore.

Face it Scottie. If John Murtha has come around to a position closer to Michael Moore it's because that's the direction a majority of the country has moved.

In a bigger sense, the country is saying "Fool me once, shame on me....Fool me twice.....er, Won't get fooled again."

If you want to demonize and marginalize people these days, you have to get some new material.

3. Seeing Kerry on the talk shows -- It does seem like deja vu
But if it really were a replay of the campaign, this time, the results would be much different, methinks.

4. John Murtha has come to a position closer to Michael Moore's...
...because it turned out Michael Moore was right all along--"A fictitious war for fictitious reasons." I guess Moore's "radicalism" comes from being right so much earlier than most of the rest of us in America. His pronouncements have been wholly vindicated nearly three years later.

In other developments, Republicans further tried to tar John Murtha by associating him with Christopher Columbus "and those extreme round earthers."

citizen in their heart knows that it is unfair - that Michael Moore speaks and acts to gain attention by being an activist and humorist. This Congressman went out and did his job - listened and weighed the desperate situation we're in - spoke and took action on behalf of the country and humanity.

On behalf of the country and humanity. Yes, they both did this, but the Republicans made it dirty - and introduced character assassination against another leader - a duly elected Congressman. Republicans believe they own freedom of speech. At least they haven't privatized it yet that I know of.

So, yeah, they've got their heads so far up their asses, they need monocles to see out their belly buttons.
