Which war is a Hayworth a veteran of, does anyone know?

PS: If you want to call Hayworth's office and let them know what you think of him and his "idea," his number is:

202-225-2190

1. Don't know but saw him the other day and he said he did not want
Bush to campaign for him in his race in Arizona.

6. Good. I hope Bush campaigns for all the RW candidates in '06.
Nothing like having a cinder block around your neck while you're drowning.

4. None that I know of!
I hear of Hayworth all the time as I live in the Phoenix area.
Here is what I found on the guy:
Prior to his election to Congress, J.D. was a public relations consultant, an insurance agent, and a radio news commentator. His media career included radio and television, most notably seven years as a sports anchor in Phoenix. He is a member of the North Ridge Community Church; a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International; a volunteer reader for community groups, and is a speaker for D.A.R.E. He is also active in scouting, having earned the Eagle Scout Award. He earned a bachelor's degree, cum laude, in speech communications and political science from North Carolina State University in 1980. J.D. and his wife Mary have three children and reside in Scottsdale, Arizona.

10. Former Sports reporter
who got canned for sexual harrasment and became blowhard Rush wanna-be, then right-wing congress-critter in in 94 fiasco.

As far as I know, no military service. Believe me, if he did, he would talk about it constantly.

15. He came in under the "Contract On America"?
Weren't those dumbos supposed to serve two terms max and then leave Congress? Wasn't that their "promise" to America?

Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 03:47 PM by TahitiNut
... from the northeast Phoenix area, including Fountain Hills. My Aunt and Uncle, both New Deal Dems who live in his District, detest him with a passion. J.D. is as far right as Duncan Hunter and an outright corporatist fascist.

12. I called his office and asked which branch of the military he served in
Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 04:07 PM by BurtWorm
and they wanted to hang up the phone on me, so I asked again, which branch of the military did he serve in.

"He did not."

That's what they told me.

PS: This is after I told them I thought it was "reprehensible" that anyone would play politics with an issue that is costing American lives.

PPS: His office number is 202-225-2190.

22. He's a BIG Chickenhawk
Just whipped out my copy of "Almanac of American Politics" and, lo and behold, there is NO MILITARY SERVICE listed for Hayworth.

In contrast, the listing for John Murtha says: "Marine Corps, 1952-55, 1966-67 (Vietnam); Marine Corps Reserves, 1955-66, 1967-90"

My father was a Korean War vet and my Uncle died at Omaha Beach on D-Day (thus, real veterans). They served their country and didn't go on an AWOL bender in Alabama. Time for Democratic vets to start questioning the patriotism of the chickenhawks in a MAJOR way! :kick:
