Become the opposition party that America craves. Dont keep being seen as week and Republican-Lite. Dont keep stepping away from the plate. This is your chance. This is 4th and 10.

The Republicans have forced this vote for purely political reasons. You all know it doesnt have much chance to pass.

EVERY DEMOCRAT MUST VOTE FOR THIS. DO IT. DONT BACK DOWN ANYMORE. PLEASE TELL AMERICA THAT YOU DO NOT SUPPORT THE OCCUPATION OF IRAQ.

3. What EXACTLY are they voting for? Murtha's plan wasn't specific
so what could GOPs put in the language to make it specific?

5. does the GOP want it passed?
If it is something that the GOP does not want passed, it will not get passed. The GOP will make sure. Therefore the Dems have nothing to loose voting for it and lots to loose by not voting for it.

couldn't even find it.

6. I'm sure it will not be a straight vote on withdrawal.
The language will not be plain or direct enough to support...they will put something in to discourage Dems from voting for it.

9. wrong, they should all vote for it
Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 04:35 PM by LSK
No republicans will vote for it. It will not pass. All Dems should vote for it whether they want to withdraw or not. The GOP is playing POKER and this is a BLUFF!

They need to send a loud and clear message that the Democrats are the OPPOSITION PARTY.

11. amen
Voting against the war should not be a hard choice. It is a golden opportunity to dissent. It will backfire on GOP. Abstaining plays right into image of Dems as weak-kneeded.

13. Right on! And one more thing
...this chance extends beyond the vote (which may be lost). Be vocal about the dem position and about the war on a daily basis. Carpe diem!
