How will the Democratic President repair our relations with the world?
What's the best way to fix our standing in the world when our Democratic president-elect takes office in January 2009?

**Yes, I'm thinking positively but I don't see, short of complete voting fraud, how a Republican candidate can win in 2008.

1. Depends on who the Democratic President is.........
If the Democratic President is Hillary and Bill becomes the First Gentleman, then things look good as far as rebuilding the diplomatic bridges that numbnuts has burned!

3. I think about this a lot. Not being a Republican will be one advantage.
Pledging not to start anymore conflicts will be another thing the next president must do. Cleaning up any conflicts continuing at that point will also be essential. So will showing respect for global diversity.

4. Appointment of a special counsel to investigate the bush administration
for crimes against humanity, breach of the Geneva Conventions and other treaties signed by the U.S., breach of the US Code, Title 18. Remove all ambassadors appointed by bush, replace them with qualified appointees who support the UN and want to work WITH it to reduce conflicts, address human rights, etc.

Until there is a clear signal by a new US administration that it will pursue legal avenues to address the criminal actions of the bush administration, the new government will have a hard time convincing anyone that anything has substantially changed, imo.

5. You don't go to war with your friends.
If people aren't your friends, what do you have to do to get them there?
