Poll question: All you supporters of the $87 billion Iraq boondogle....a poll
With the $87 billion additional in funds about to be appropriated, we will have spent about $161 billion if memory serves, for the first year of so of conquest and occupation.

Many at DU have expressed the idea that we must spend money and stay as occupiers and give BushCo money to "rebuild" Iraq. I find it farcical and amazing that anyone who has watched this administration lie, cheat and steal us into this war would trust BushCo with another penny to squander in the cauldron of insanity they have created in Iraq.

However, suprised I am.

I will take the daring step of assuming that NO ONE on this board expects this to be the last of the funding requests.

The question I have for those who support the next $87 billion is:

HOW MUCH MORE OF OUR TREASURY WOULD YOU SUPPORT GIVING TO BUSHCO TO CONTINUE TO OCCUPY IRAQ? (AFTER the $161 billion already spent)

1. Preferably none
but reality is that by the time this is over and we
declare victory and go home, it will cost us about a trillion...

This is from OMB and anywhere from 15K dead and up.

6. Yep that is the mesage
Now IF a Demo is elected and we sweep both the house and the senate
that tab will go down considerably as the UN will get involved...

4. The poll is for supporters of the additonal funding
I think we need to get out and get the U.N. in asap and I can't support any money going that is directed by the Smirk CriminalGang.

I've been reading large numbers of posts from people who think we have to give Bush* more money to throw away to his criminal gang.
I'm having trouble believing I'm on DU

7. Couldn't agree more
I'm still waiting for all the posters who think we need to spend more money in Iraq to show up here and let us all know what the limit will be to their generosity to BushCronies.

9. There was no place to write down "NOT ANOTHER NICKEL!"
I don't want to see one further penny spent on the Iraq war and occupation. I want our guys brought home and hostilities to cease and everything turned over to the Iraqis. If we're OUT OF THERE, the UN will be more likely to come in, where they should be.

Better get that regime change going, HERE.

8. Can't we just annex it?
Or make it part of Texas? That way it won't cost us taxpayers hardly anything. And I heard they do miracles in education over there.
