Who were the 47 people Clinton supposedly had mysteriously killed?

I'm reading Michael Moore's "Dude Where's My Country?" and its great - except he keeps referring to Clinton having 47 people mysteriously killed. What is he referring to?

I've heard the conspiracy theories on Vince Foster, but that was never really substantiated.

(Apologies to the mods if they feel this is flamebait...but honestly I never knew about a 47 people.)

that Clinton was also responsible for the deaths of two Arkansas teenagers who were murdered because they accidentally stumbled over Clinton's drug ring :eyes: with the state police, or something dumb like that.

The kids were shot and/or drugged and then left on train tracks to be run over. Falwell was selling some video called "The Clinton Chronicles" that supposedly delved into these "murders".

Unsolved Mysteries runs this story now and then, minus (intelligently) the insane, RW spin that the Clintons were behind the teenagers' deaths.

I don't know who the other 44 people are supposed to be.

i've read about it in al frankin's books, he mentions it a few times. frankly, i can't stand michael moore, but does he believe it's BS too?

are truly sinister, but they can't be attributed to Clinton. It wasn't "Clinton's drug ring", it was the CIA's, using Mena as a base for its Contra/cocaine operation. (This isn't tinfoil stuff. It happened.) Bush Sr, as Veep and former CIA man, had more to do with this than Clinton, as Ark gov., ever did. If the dead teens are on any list, they ought to be on Bush's.

Snopes is great, but I read every article in the WP about this, and he's not telling the whole story here.

First of all, he ignores the witness that was killed (the second WP article). Second, he fails to mention that an armed robbery in that area of Georgtown, filled with some of the highest political figures in the US, was exteremly uncommon during that time. Third, he fails to mention the earlier reports of at least three people involved in the robbery. Fourth, he doesn't mention where Mahoney had worked, which if I remember correctly was at Commerce, where there was a lot of shady business that had NOTHING to do with Clinton's sex life.

That being said, Snopes is a great resource, and I read the site all the time.

I remember this quite well, it was hilarious. Scaife and his minions started lies and rumors about so many - two kids who saw something so Clinton ran them over with a train, every cop killed in AR was Clinton's doing, Vince Foster (of course) who was also sleeping with Hillary (except when she was a lesbian, they couldn't get this one straight). As usual, the Republicans were making up ridiculous lies that no one in their right mind could believe.

Some of the stories didn't originate with Freepers though. Ron Brown (?) the Secretary of Commerce died in a plane crash due to bad weather (on a clear day) and we even had some military guy go to the press with a xray of his skull showing what looked like a bullethole (why? APEC).

There was lots of shady stuff at Mena Airport, which was where Oliver North was flying in the cocaine (this has been proven in Congress, and his diaries are part of the official record now). Clinton supposedly kept the drug operation secure and covered up and that's why he could run against Bush Sr.

You want to hear the real doozy? Caitlin Mahoney. Remember that name. She was an intern in Clinton's campaign, and was murdered the week before the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke. The only witness was killed a few months later during a police "investigation".

for the conspiracy theorists to explain why, if Clinton was such a nefarious, psychopathic killer who knocked off anyone who got in his way, are Linda Tripp, Monica Lewinsky and Lucianne Goldberg still walking around in perfect health. It seems to me that as soon as they reared up and threatened to unleash the biggest scandal of Clinton's public life, he would have gotten rid of them post haste. Not only did he not off them, they prospered quite nicely - hell, Linda Tripp even kept her job in the Clinton Administration.

The "bullet" was an error either on a batch of film or with the machine (I forgte which) because everybody they x-rayed started having the exact same black spot in the exact same place. When they switched machines the spot disappeared.

BTW, I thought the plane crashed at night.

...who ended up on the Clinton Body Count: #4, Paul Tully.

Around the early 80s, I interviewed him for a radio show in Philadelphia, where Tully was then the executive director of the local chapter of Americans for Democratic Action. It was quite a memorable interview, not because of what he said, but rather because of Tully himself. At the time, I'd estimate he was in his late 30s-early 40s; he was easily about 350-400 pounds and was the worst chain smoker I've ever met.

Now, here's part of what Snopes said about him:

Paul Tully died on 24 September 1992. Problem is, there wasn't anything the least bit unusual about his death, so whoever cooked up this list had to lie and claim that "no cause was ever determined" and "no autopsy was allowed." Au contraire! An autopsy was performed, and Tully's cause of death was determined: a massive heart attack. (Not a surprising demise, since Tully was extremely overweight, a heavy drinker, and a chain smoker.)

So, I can personally confirm two of the three aspects of Tully's life that probably led to his heart attack. I wasn't aware of his drinking, but I only interviewed him for an hour in his office, where he would've been less likely to indulge in alcohol.

The people behind this "47" story are abusing statistics. Fact is, a guy like Clinton knows a huge number of people, either directly, or within one or two degrees of separation. Given those huge numbers, a certain small percentage will die in odd ways. The conspiracy-minded sieze upon these unusual events as though they are evidence of some kind of conspiracy. They're not, but to the true believers, it's absolute proof.

You'll see the exact same list, minus a few names such as Vince Foster, recycled as the "Bush Death List." It's a farce.
