he just said "we've all been to Arlington, and have seen the crosses and stars of David" (paraphrased) in the House.

Guess what?

There are no crosses OR stars of David in Arlington!

but he's still an asshat for his last remarks.

EDIT: Well, after reading a bit more I'm now unsure - I just read that all headstones and monuments since WW I are now uniform, as in you pic, however they may have crosses or the Star of David engraved upon them, but Crosses as markers are no longer allowed.

Maybe there is a section of "older" monuments, and that is what is shown in this pic??
