Ohio 2nd - A progressive blog

This is an excellent site, and has always been a reliable place to go for news about the Ohio 2nd district.

They've got some great stuff on Jean Schmidt's shenanigans on the House floor yesterday, including this fun tidbit:

Schmidt Campaign Flooded By Calls

Posted by Editor under Schmidt

Just received word from Jean Schmidt’s campaign manager Joe Braun stating that the Congresswoman’s office has been recieving hundreds of phone calls concerning today incident and “the one’s from the district are nearly evenly split“.

Evenly split my ass. }( Of course, if they're actually admitting to a 50-50 split is this conservative-as-hell-we-love-war district, that's really saying something...

Anyhow, please consider visiting this site for your Mean Jean news. :-)

1. Who is her opponent? I'd love to donate my opinion of her in cold hard $$
We should all donate to her opponent and to Murtha's re-election fund. It should be easy enough to raise 20 million in 20 dollar chunks for each of them. ;-)

2. No opponent yet. She's the one who narrowly beat Paul Hackett...
... the Democrat, Marine and Iraq veteran, in the most conservative district in Ohio.

Ohio 2nd Blog says it much better than I can:

In the end she was very fortunate that she pulled this now when there wasn’t an Actblue page where we could point people to to donate to her opponent. Six months from now her little tirade could have netted some Democrat a crisp quarter of a million.
