What happened to the idiotic thread about last nights vote?
Edited on Sat Nov-19-05 06:24 PM by kingofalldems
The poster claimed the Dems voted against their own bill, or something like that. I am still trying to figure out what the poster meant. Was it pulled? It was here at around 4 pm but now it's gone.

1. Mods deleted it
I don't know what disruptors hope to accomplish with that stuff. Just to get us upset?

2. If that is what was claimed it should have been pulled.
This was not a Democratic bill and the Republican stunt did not work, who was really fooled by that Republican talking point?

7. I was thinking the OP was either ignorant or
thought DUers were stupid. Guess he thought wrong.

4. actually there's been several threads of this sort
going around, including ones with posters incorrectly claiming that whatsherface called Murtha a "coward"--and she didn't say this word at all (but she used a rhetorical device to clearly imply it).

9. She DID use the word 'coward', although she didn't call him that directly:
Edited on Sat Nov-19-05 06:34 PM by meganmonkey
Rep. Jean Schmidt, R-Ohio, quoted a constituent who "asked me to send Congressman Murtha a message, that cowards cut and run, Marines never do." Under fire, she later apologized for the remarks.

13. I think she directly called him a coward by proxy. The message was clear
she directed that remard directly to Murtha. Who the hell else was she calling a coward, then?

If anyone was indirect it was the cowardly colonel who didn't have the guts to call Murtha a coward himself, but said it through his Hag in the House.

5. The Republicans are not trusted anymore. They are dead to us.
The talking point/spin/deceit/swift boating tactics DON'T WORK ANYMORE>

Watch them turn up the heat as their stratgey fails, watch as the poll numbers continue to plunge, as they have awaken the sleeping giant. Watch as ironically they become the ones who are afraid.

11. I didn't read that thread before it was deleted, but was
really shocked when the local news, (I don't have cable) mentioned the vote, and being in one the the states with * approval rating still over 50% it wasn't like they made it clear that the bill was NOT Murtha's bill. I almost went ballistic, but came here first instead, and read first instead, wherein I saw the truth of the matter.

I notice that sometimes here folks react rather than simply addressing the issue, but also knowing that, I read what was already here about the matter and then didn't need to comment further than everyone else.

Lastly, I have a question. . .since that was clearly NOT Murtha's bill nor any resemblance therein, does Murtha's bill still have a chance of being taken to a vote or is there some reason why the repubs thinks this is the end of it that I am missing?
