Ideas for VP candidates?
Edited on Thu Oct-16-03 01:03 AM by mb7588a
Excluding those running for the dem. nomination, I like the following:

Russ Feingold (would help someone like Kerry or Clark)
Max Cleland (would help someone like Dean)
John McCain (call me crazy, but I really like the guy...he'd help anyone get elected)
Bob Graham (could get Florida?)
Hillary? (Yikes.)

3. Stick with the current pool
If you stay with the current pool you're more likely to drag more people to the polls than all of a sudden grabbing someone off the democratic street.

Ideally, the winner of the primaries (clark o dean) will take one of the following as VPs

kucinich
edwards
clark/dean

I foresee an incredible turn out with any combination of the above.

4. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL)
Sound, liberal credentials, Midwesterner, not up for re-election, squeaky-clean, intelligent, articulate, etc. .

5. McCain refused to veep for Bush
his gave his reason as not thinking the job of vp was worthy of his time, but you never know whether it was his dislike of Bush

anyway he isn't switching parties, and he probably only wants to be in politics for about 7 more years(one more term) and then he'll probably retire.

I like him too by the way.

Here's what the most likely VP scenarios, in order, are(in bold), followed by less likely yet novel alternatives

Kerry: GRAHAM, NEPOLITANO, Harrold Ford
Dean: GRAHAM, CLARK, Mary Landrieu
Edwards: CLARK, BIDEN, John Kerry
Clark: EDWARDS, GEPHARDT, Mark Warner(VA governor)
