"trapped in the Bush illogic" (Dowd)

The Bush team prepared the ground for American doubt; they told us to expect a fairy tale and now resent the fact that we refuse to treat it like one.

The fundamental problem for the Bush administration is that it is endlessly propounding a contradiction: Wanting us to worry that we are battling for our lives against the terrorists, and wanting us to stop worrying about the state of the battle.

Everything is wrong, and nothing is wrong. We are trapped in the Bush illogic. Call it our curse.

Dowd often cannot criticize Republicans without a Clinton jab ...

Maureen - is he 'right'? ... the press and the White House are one and the same. So, you, as the press, must take some blame for the spin ... again, he lies, and you call him 'right' ... that's wrong.

I didn't see the word "lie" used ... and, I'm afraid, Maureen, it's a bit more than "endlessly propounding a contradiction" and/or "trapped in the Bush illogic" and/or "bewitched" and/or "bogus" and/or "curse" and/or "2 + 2 = 5" ... however, you're on the right track.

Sorry, to be so hard on dear Maureen ... she's no Molly Ivins nor Gene Lyons ... and, she has been an enabler since day one.
