Can someone tell me why President Clinton doesn't say this?
I am wondering why President Bill Clinton doesn't appear on every Sunday morning talk show and say this:

"We now know that this administration lied us into the Iraq war by manipulating, exaggerating and lying about the intelligence. The fact is--this same cast of characters urged me, in 1998, to remove Saddam from power. They've been shopping around the idea of an Iraq war for several years. I have in my hand the 1998 letter in which the members of PNAC, the Project For A New American Century), tried get me to remove Saddam and going to war with Iraq. Look closely at some of the signatures on this letter: Elliott Abrams, Richard L. Armitage, John Bolton, Zalmay Khalilzad, Donald Rumsfeld and Paul Wolfowitz. These men have wanted war with Iraq for a long time. When I wouldn't give it to them, they waited until they were in power--and they got their war with Iraq by selling America cooked intelligence."

Why doesn't Bill Clinton do this?

1. That's not Clinton's job. CURRENT Dem officeholders should say that.

that the letter was to Clinton. He has first-hand knowledge of the offer presented to him. He can directly speak to his experience with the PNACers.

With the other Dems--as you said--it's hearsay

Furthermore, Clinton is incredibly articulate, charming and he explains things in ways that help the average person understand. He could really change minds.

I just wish he would do this.

He has the opportunity. I'm wondering why he doesn't take it.

If "other Dems" want to come forward and talk about this--that's great. I agree. I think they definitely should.

However, Clinton coming forward with this would really pack a wallop.

2. Isn't there some unwritten rule that says a previous President doesn't
speak bad about a current president? Maybe that is why Clinton doesn't attack bush**?

4. I have heard him say basically this same thing
in a couple interviews. But not as strongly as you phrased it.

He sat for 5 years and NEVER criticized dubya's administration. I guess he was trying to be polite. But his voice is long overdue. I agree with you on that point.

6. the majority of the people of this country believe in the government...
Just like when Nixon was president, people refuse to believe the government would use its citizens simply for the gain of power. People want to believe this country is great, rather than a 1st world bully. President Clinton cant call the president a liar, it means calling the people who believe in the country 'liars'. People cant take that. Thats the true evil of the Bush administration, using that belief to destroy.

9. Its possible that they
thought Clinton would have been a master at selling an Iraq war, and just tried to get him to start the war, knowing they had the 2000 election rigged then they could have blamed Iraq on Clinton.

And we know the rest of the story, its not Clintons war its *'s war.
