Al Franken in Denver tonight.
He'll be at The Tattered Cover LODO, on 16th St.

Free tickets start at 6:30pm, and he's showing up at 7:30. TCBS...303-436-1070

I got a couple of books for him to sign. Rush...fat idiot, and Lies.

Some new quotes about Scwartzy and Limpbutt..."It's unbelievable. I wish him good luck. Here's the one thing about Swarzenegger that bothers me- every guy in California is going to think it's open season on groping Maria Shriver, and that is wrong."

About Limbaugh's remarks about McNabb..."It's terrible. He's like that relative you can't take anywhere."

1. I used to think Franken was funny.....
but Friday night, just after Limbaugh's admission, Franken was make jokes about Rush's addiction, saying stuff like 'he must really have the shakes about now' and that Limbaugh prefers $250 million and a fistful of oxycontin to just $250 million'.
Now it's true that Rush has been unkind in the past towards people, and Franken was right to bring this up, but to ridicule his having the shakes is a bit over the top. Comedy is funny until it gets mean. I have seen some of the affects of addiction, having worked briefly in the medical profession. What these people go through is no laughing matter.

2. rush is getting no less than he deserves for the hate and venom
he has been spewing all these years. has he been kind to those addicted? no. has he been understanding? no. is he going to the same jail he decided everyone else using drugs should be in? no.

franken remains a most keen-eyed observer of the hypocricy of the right, and one "mean" remark doesn't change that.

4. Well, then let me cry for the millionaire hypocrite!
He's made his millions off of vilifying the very people you have been helping, and then he gets caught doing worse than they did. He got his maid involved. Most addicts put risk only to themselves, without forcing employees to be accomplices.

You think Limbutt would be any kinder than Franken has been if the addict under investigation was Paul Krugman?

7. No he would not
be any kinder than Franken. And yes. Limbaugh has been mean to addicts in the past. But does that mean Franken should stoop to that level? No. We are better than they are. I expect better from Al.

8. before talking about how mean al franken is, read
ann coulter's latest hysterical rantings (posted elsewhere on this board).

nothing that anybody even remotely liberal is saying, including al, could compare with the screeching coming from the right.

14. Wrong side of the Continental Divide....
Oddly enough, I don't think we're on his book tour. :)

...Although the last person to sign books at our little bookstore was me, I think. ;)

10. Get TiVo!
By the time you pass through all those commericals, you'd catch up to real time before the game is over.
