Stephanopoulos
This morning I taped Stephanopoulos' show and watched it later tonight.

At the end there was a part where Ted Koppel was talking about memorable moments in his show. He talked about several interviews but he made an interesting comment about Clinton. He said that Clinton was a master at handling the media. And he also said that a President who is facing problems can usually work through them if he knows how to handle the media. And he also said a President who is able to use the media to his advantage would likely be remembered as a great President.

I thought it was an interesting comment.

And then I thought of Bush and how he is not able to handle the media in such a way, in fact he even has problems with basic communication. So I guess that may be an indication of how he will be remembered..........

1. Bush didn't need to handle the media until lately, he had someone
else do that for him. Clinton also took certain media manipulations to new levels.

3. I thought Reagan was a big phony.
The way he ducked his head and told those long stories - - which usually turned out to be made up - - gave me the willies.

Kerry should have spent more time studying himself on television.

Maybe he would have noticed that his tongue darting out every few sentences looked kind of weird.

He might have noticed, too, that nobody but him was wearing pink ties.

Mighty stylish, I guess, but it couldn't have made him look more unlike middle America than he already did.

When he continued those behaviors, along with the wordy answers, I got the impression that nobody could tell him anything. :(

That might not be fair, but it's the where I ended up.

5. The only great thing Reagan did was leave office.
The corporate news media coddled him, just like they have done Dubya. A network of followers (leaders or handlers would be more appropriate) has aggressively perpetuated the Saint Ronnie of Reagan myth.

Even a casual observation of the facts reveals him to have been one of our worst presidents. For example: Candidate Reagan was highly critical of President Carter's performance in managing the deficit. But the national debt increased $1.7 trillion (180%) under Reagan. In those eight years, the United States moved from being the world's largest international creditor to the largest debtor nation.

Unemployment reached 9.7%, the poorest performance of any president in recent history.

Saint Ronnie of Reagan worshipers believe his tinkle-on economics worked. But the fact is, income taxes were higher at the end of his eight years in office than they were at the beginning.

And what about all this "Reagan won the cold war" crap? 'Scuse me while I :puke:

I sometimes refer to these two links, when confronted with the blatherings of Saint Ronnie's disciples:

4. Looks like Stephanopoulos realizes Clinton is destined for greatness
The turncoat Stephanopolous finally sees the light--Clinton has the record, political skills, intellect, and communication skills that history rewards handsomely.

Hell, Clinton even won a war without a single American casualty. He's beloved in the world, respected at home and abroad by the vast majority, and commands respect. Those are the traits of a great man.

9. Yep
I loved watching Clinton's 1992 campaign doc "The War Room." They handled the press so great! Is he Stephanopoulos the same guy from that doc who was apart of that campaign or am I thinking of someone else??
