keep saying that they want the press to report the "good news" in Iraq and that will change the level of support for the war. What good news?

2. Well, what about all the people who DIDN'T get blown up today?!
Hmm? The liberal media won't tell you about that!

It's like when Herbert Hoover would say that sure, one third of Americans were out of work in the Great Depression, but that meant that two thirds of Americans HAD jobs.

Somehow, that argument was not very reassuring to Americans.

somewhere was able to do something that he wasn't able to do a few years ago, then we wouldn't have 2000+ soldiers dead and more dying each day?

Ehh, chalk it up to plain old ignorance.

5. And we're probably only hearing...
a small portion of how bad it really is. If they heard the real truth, these people would probably faint.

7. The good news is that the Carlyle Group has made another billion
off of war contracts and Tony Blair will soon be joining John Major as a sitting board member.

The good news is that you'll never hear anyone that is making money off this war complain.

8. Why do they want to increase the level of support for an illegal war?
Why do they love war so much? Why do they want more people to die? The sooner we get out of Iraq, the sooner we can figure out what the hell to do about the ruin that we've brought upon ourselves.

9. Wingnuts Need Things That Seem There That Aren't
Listen to these goons and you'd be convinced the WMDs are still around (hiding either in Iran or Syria...depending on the wingnut you talk to) and that we didn't get the real story about that, either.

This is denial in the best way wingnuts know how to play it. Claim there's something there that isn't being reported. If it is, then you claim "see there was a story there"...while if nothing is reported the stand-by "librul media is not showing us the full story" meme works very well. Of course, if their argument is fully debunked, they just ignored that they've been fully exposed as hypocrites and move on to the next lie...or even have the chutzpah to bring back the old lies a couple weeks or months later.

If these morans want to support the war, I suggest their church raise their own militias...I'll gladly pay for their transport and training IN Iraq...so they can "win" this thing against those evil "islamofascists" (:wtf: is that???). So far, no takers...

10. Schools are open, water is running, people have electricity
of course, they had those before we invaded. And, actually, after we invaded, people were without those for some time...

Its only even remotely noteworthy that Iraqis have power and water back because we took those things away in our bombings.

But to hear reich wingers talk about it, you'd think that they were a primitive, third-world country before we invaded.
