Eleven Million Borrowed Dollars, btw. How generous of our children to pony up 11 mil plus interest. It works out to over 90K per Mongolian soldier.

they must be good fighters

3. That's the conservative idea of "diversity"
one or two minorities among thousands who are the majority, and that's deverse enough.

That's why Republicans can say that its an international effort, and can do so with a straight face.

5. What makes you think it is about 120 troops in Iraq?
Mongolia sits between Russia and China. Basing agreements in such a setting would have been something that Cold Warriors would have given their eye teeth to obtain. The Bush administration includes a bunch of old cold warrior types.

Mongolia also has various mineral wealth and the eastern Gobi looms large on many oil prospectors radar screens. The Bush administration is literally elbow to elbow with oil people who are defining what it is to be the 21'st century's geopolitical crusading knights: theOil-warrior. If nothing else, George Bush knows the game of wildcat oil speculation.

So it's no small wonder Mongolia is of interest to Bushco.
