A theory. Cheney comes out & growls. Causes approval numbers to dip
EVEN further.

Bush comes out and spews the same old tired crap. Offers nothing new. Causes approval numbers to dip EVEN further.

This Administration is a one-trick pony and everyone's getting sick of it.

1. You've stated the obvious ... so what's the theory ?
That they're even more stupid than we thought they were ?

2. The theory is the more face time on TV, the more their numbers will drop.

They think the opposite is true, and usually the opposite *is* true.

Sorry I didn't make that clear enough.

11. I got it now ... thanks ...
So, let's take up a collection to start an 'All George and Dick, All The Time' show ... like Wayne's World ...

That should get us a dual impeachment in record time !!

:applause:

4. They think they can "turn things around" by growling on tv, but . . .
I think it will have the opposite effect.

6. Been Saying This For 3 Weeks Now
When the criticism mounted BEFORE the war, they went on the attack. They slimed Wilson, Ritter, and all the dems who voiced dissent.

Then when the whole Wilson thing spun out of control, it was because they attacked the dissenters.

So, now they think that they can attack their way out of a problem caused by their earlier attacks. Huh?

Isn't that a warning sign of a psychopathy? Repeating the problem thinking it's a solution, i mean.

9. Yep. A one trick-pony. They are unable to come up with another strategy.

I just wonder when it will dawn on them that it's NOT WORKING ANYMORE.

And what will happen then?

12. Well It's OBVIOUSLY Not Working
How can this miss that? The poll numbers indicate the ship has sailed. It's not coming to back to port. No war has ever gone from extremely unpopular back to full support. Once the people turn against the concept, there's not a sales job in the world that will change their mind.

14. It's like the "terra 'lerts" that got them mileage for a while, then
everyone got hip to that, so that sort of died down.

It's like a rat hitting the lever over and over but no pellet is coming out.

Their learning curve seems to be pretty big, however.

15. What about a LIHOP?
I'm afraid that if they fall much further, or are really facing being ousted, this is the one thing they'll try.

Contrary to the popular opinion around here, I DO think it would work to bolster their popularity. I suspect the American people would cower in fear and embrace "a strong leader".

Discuss.

18. I Think You're Wrong
Nothing more to discuss. The whole game is rooted in protecting the people from the boogey man. Another attack shows that in five years, nothing worked. And, the dems, no longer cowering in fear of the mighty Silverspoon, would attack and show the house of cards as a weak and ineffectual game to the repubs.

21. Appreciate your thoughts Professor
As I have always respected your opinion on these boards. However, I don't have as much faith in the populace as you do.

First, there would be no one to call them on their failures-- who would actaully come out and say they failed while tens/hundreds/thousands more are dead? No, I think anyone taking that line would once again be cast as "not pulling together" and "siding with the terrorists".

Second, I think they would engineer the LIHOP to occur outside of the US; this allows them to still claim they are protecting America while blaming the failure on security in the overseas country. It works to instill the same fear, yet places the blame elsewhere.

My 2 cents.

Man, I've got to stop thinking up ways for ChimpCo to screw us up more.

They should go out of their way to stop these two from regurgitaing the same pap.

19. Snarlin dick
reminds me of the hardcore racist in Twelve Angry men the original, who held onto his beliefs until finally when everyone else had had enough of him, and isolated him, he broke down and admitted the error of his ways.

I don't know if these morans* can do that though, see that everyone thinks they're fools and admit the error of their ways.
