1. I can't believe they did that!
A full-page spread! Well, I guess the NY Times isn't spreading the pro-Bush propaganda anymore.

8. Oh sure they are
But they also deign to print the truth once in a while. This photo series is a real breakthrough, tho.

2. If they would lurk here more often
they would have beaten everyone else to the BIG stories. Plame leak, DSM, election fraud, etc., we're way ahead of the game with most of these topics and it generally takes the MSM months to dig up what we do in a few days.

All the news outlets would be better off if they spent more time at places like DU!

We've been running around two years ahead of the news here.

10. Too bad journalism has died in this country.
Otherwise, there might be a reason for the NYT and the other newspapers in this country to continue existing.

11. Interesting if they did, but I doubt it. Those are AP/Reuters pics
I would think the NYT had more right to them or had them already prior to whenever they had first been posted here :)

13. I have never seen them print a series of photos like that before
Especially not on the front page. Precisely the same photos I used, in fact. They had many to choose from. I choose to believe they stole the idea.

14. It is the most logical way for them to tell the story
Edited on Mon Nov-21-05 07:15 PM by OPERATIONMINDCRIME
As far as the pics go, of course they are the same, they are the same on every website and every paper that used them, as they are the ones that exist of the incident.

I did appreciate you posting the thread yesterday though, it totally cracked me up and told the story chronologically very well. I just can't swallow the notion that is where the NYT got the idea from.

This website has a good capture of the same as well, though posted yesterday afternoon:

http://atrios.blogspot.com/2005_11_20_atrios_archive.html#113251453922701697

I just think the notion to post the series that way was far too appealing for the NYT to pass up. Those pics just begggg for a series!

19. not true - there are other pix & other angles to choose from
and I have NEVER seen the Times print such a series of pix before - that is completely new for them. I challenge you to show me where they have done so in the past. Especially page one. I will grant you maybe they are lurking Eschaton rather than DU, but I don't think they came up with it on their own. The Eschaton pix are slightly different, tho. I don't know where they came from. Slightly different shots.

20. I love the irony too.
On Good Morning America, they showed the clip and then pointed out how it symbolized *'s trouble finding an exit from Iraq.

21. I like the irony in that he turned to the right instead of the left.
Just goes to show, turning left is the answer.
