woodward says hes the reporter who told libby about plame

bob woodward just responded to larry king s question about conversations with scooter libby by stating that he could not rule out that he told libby about valerie plame because it was on his question list for his book, and now two years later he cannot remember whether he told him.

clearly, woodward is setting himself up as the deus ex machina for scooter libbys defense team,

now suggesting quite openly publicly that he may be the reporter libby was referring to, when he said he learned of plame from a reporter.

uh oh, what will pat fitzgerald do now?

Wilson's wife well before Woodward talked to Libby on the phone on June 23 (the same day Libby had Judy Miller over for a chat) and Woodward's meeting with Libby on the 27th.

Nice try, Woody, but Libby actually was snooping around asking State Dept for its info on Wilson by the end of May. He knew long before the conversation documented in your notes. And last I looked, you don't even look like Tim Russert.

Jeez, he's out Judying Judy Miller. :puke:

13. I gotta tell ya
From the beginning, this whole Woodward business has smacked of Rove. This isn't a "Deus ex machina", as another poster has suggested -- it's more likely a Rove ex machina.

As much as it is likely that there are serious divisions between the Bush-Cheney camps, with both sides turning on the other, this development seems to support the "conspiricy to retaliate against a political enemy" theory -- IMO.
