1. I Hear Ya, But I think the Schiavo Incident already served its purpose
It was THE start of this rollercoaster plummet. Actually, I got so sick and tired of the whole fiasco after all the exposure that I'd be content never seeing that video or hearing about it ever again.
3. Even though this incident is a great example of the hypocrisy of the...
Wrong-wing, I'd rather pretend it never happened. There are just some things that are too vile to rehash. There's enough to hit these guys with without reliving that nightmare. I'm not saying it shouldn't be discussed, I just feel very uncomfortable discussing it.
is what should be pointed out. It actually did make me write a living will to prevent something like that happening to me. A lot of living wills were done because of the Schiavo incident. Also a lot of money & time was wasted bringing in all the washington crowd after they went on recess. Why couldn't they have done something about the price of gas at that time?
One of the fellows I work for still thinks Terri was 'murdered' because 'some woman was in a coma and she woke up and was fine.' I tried to explain about the autopsy, but he didnt want to hear about it. He's usually open to discussion about things, but somehow he got hold of that one incident of someone waking from a coma and decided everyone who is in a coma can 'wake up'. I just hope he never has to be the one to decide if a family member in a vegetative state should be taken off life support.
Anytime we need an example of how big and powerful RW lies are, this is the one. It wasn't just one lie, but lots of them. The uproar over nothing was amazing too. That showed how responsive to RW propaganda the MSM was. The Schaivo case proved that lunacy is widespread. Those folks on the right actually believe liberals and the courts have a plot to kill disabled people.
