"got ammo?" - bumper sticker i just saw

i just saw a bumper sticker on a truck (most LikeLy a carpenter or such - mucho construction going on in the area, and Like trucks are parked everywhere - though not necessariLy) that said, "got ammo" and had the democrat donkey Logo with crosshairs set on it (a kiLL shot actuaLLy - the eye was centered on the heart).

now, i'm reaLLy fucking confused about severaL things here.

i know i've heard/seen other bumper stickers caLLing for the death of LiberaLs and such ("LiberaL hunting tag") but what the fuck!? how and when did it ever become acceptabLe to pubLicaLLy caLL for the death of a group of peopLe, much Less a group of feLLow 'murkins?

if this is kosher, is a tit-for-tat, bumper sticker caLLing for the death of repubLicans caLLed for?

if this guy is in the union (assuming he's here on one of the construction projects) what the fuck is his probLem? "united we bargain, divided we beg... but fuck the party that wiLL actuaLLy try and not strip us of power."

There were quite a few posts about how they want to kill us all for being liberal. Which is hilarious considering this morning the pukes were whining about the "politics of hate". I think the gun thread scared them. They thought we were all just going to line up quivering in our booties waiting for those great Americans to shoot us. The fact that we are willing to arm ourselves and defend our families threw them for a loop.

The right-wing is very disturbed by the idea that liberals might actually defend themselves with force if necessary.

While not actually threatening them with violence, or advocating violence against them, I think it is important to never let them forget that Liberals are NOT whimpy pacifists who are afraid to defend themselves and to defend their country with force.

Arming the Left: Is the time now? --by Charles Southwell*

I hope you didn't open this page to read what we already know: that this is the most rightwing government we have ever had in the US, even far right of Bush I, that our rights are being eroded daily, and that our democratic process is all but gone, if it isn't already gone.

I hope you came here to read about tactics for action that will finally have some consequence. I hope you agree that our protests, petitions, letters, and on and on, have been utterly ignored. The fascistas that run our country laugh at us. They believe they can do anything and that we haven't got the guts to revolt, but only to wage a war of words. I have seen the Bush cavalcades, as they drive away, his aids sneering and jeering and laughing and mocking our protests. They think we are a JOKE. Tens of millions of Americans protested the war, but because we posed no REAL THREAT to their power, we were UTTERLY IGNORED.

As long as we pose no REAL threat to the powers-that-be, to what is shaping up into a dictatorship, we will continue to be ignored. Right now, we are ignored because we present no organized power to fight this onslaught of anti-democratic, totalitarian government that we are up against.

It will take time, but it's time to get more left-leaning liberals and outright leftists to at least POSE a threat, by getting organized and getting ARMED. It's time to get well past this liberal phobia and taboo about weapons and force. After all, our liberalism was won with a REVOLUTIONARY WAR! they used real guns in that war. The French Revolution was also a WAR and they used real weapons there too.

Perhaps people believe that since the US federal government has the fire power to blow up the world X times over, that we have no chance, and that the 2nd amendment is therefore moot. I used to think the same thing. In fact, this was the major if not the only lasting upshot of the Cold War! the Cold war wasn't about one opposing ideology against the other; it wasn't about the East vs. the West. In the end, it was about the respective governments against their own peoples. The Cold War resulted in the repression of the peoples in those countries, and likewise, of peoples around the world.

He was doing the plumping at the local drug store.I actually went inside and asked who the driver of the truck was.He came out .I told well im a democrat go grab your gun tough guy .He just sputtered and said it wasnt his truck ,then said it was on the truck when he bought it.Kinda odd because it was a new truck.
I ran into him at seymour ducks inn a few months later he just ducked his head and left shortly after.

Actually, the GOP is giving him macho swagger. The Dems have been a bunch of yuppified, business suited twits for far too long, offering him nothing but business as usual, including no protection for unions but lots of protection for corporate union busting techniques.

When the Dems realize they need to talk to theit base, this guy will realize who his enemies really are.

i saw stickers that had bombers on em that read "Peace the old fashioned way." i threw up for the next five days, but im sure bunches of them have been pried off buy now.
