Former GOP Gov. George Ryan Says Look At Phil Gramm's ENRON Connections

Prosecutors: Ryan's Gramm remarks intimidating
November 22, 2005

BY NATASHA KORECKI Federal Courts Reporter

<snip>Gramm testified that he never authorized any payments to Ryan, and a Gramm campaign strategist testified that of the hundreds of races he's managed, he's never known of such a deal.

Gramm also insisted he never would have paid Ryan any money for endorsing him. "It's the difference between love and prostitution," Gramm said outside the jury's presence.

The prostitution comment prompted Ryan to address news reporters outside court afterward.

Ryan said prosecutors should investigate if there are any Gramm family ties to the Enron scandal. "If Sen. Gramm wants to use the word prostitute, perhaps he should look within," he said.

5. Phil and Wendy Gramm made the Enron Fraud possible.
They're both rotten to their cores. They carved out the regulatory pathways and facilitated the crimes of Lay and Skilling.
