Average of 64 U.S. soldiers killed every month.
There is a distinctive upward trend in the number of Americans being killed Iraq monthly. Last throes?

10. Where's the party?
According to Repubs, we're supposed to be celebrating our soldiers getting massacred.

I don't feel like celebrating. . . And I don't think that anyone else does either. . .

2. Go to college, soldiers, stay above average, don´t get killed every month.

And for heaven´s sake, stay out of that 64 club. No one should die just because they´re the average member of any club.

4. Troubling: why aren't the families outraged?
Everyone keeps speaking on behalf of the soldiers and their families, from both sides.

But, nothing would be as persuasive as the families of these fine young soldiers speaking out. Yet, they seem in favor of the war, and few come to mind as critics.

Why is that?

5. Well Start With Me
I am a Mother of a Son who just left for a year for this travesty. I am speaking out and saying end the war now. Murtha for President

People are speaking out, the media just does not cover it. Only the ones who support the effort and why any mother supports her children going over there and killing or being killed for a lie is beyond me...

6. Well said dogday! If the media is not covering
the outraged families then repug politicians are free to speak on behalf of folks like you and twist things.

No one can say it better than the families who are making the sacrifice of sending kids over there = there has got to be a way to get your voices out there.

maybe even DU is a place to start-by posting the truth.

As it stands, listening to the chicken hawks in their comfy offices who are so willing to sacrifice the lives of these young kids-but not their own, of course- it sounds like only radical left wing nuts want to stop sending troops over there. Apparently, that is not the case.

Look, we sent troops over to find WMD- not there. Done.

We toppled Saddamned- done.

He has been caught-done.

He will stand trial- done.

They have had elections, a constitution- done and done.

Now, they are blowing up mosques, killing each other. Sounds like a civil war.

Murtha was right. Not enough troops for an occupation. Not enough kevlar vests, or up armored hum-vees- it's time.

Our work is done. The troops are brave and magnificent and beautiful young kids. They need to come home.

I agree, Murtha, so far had the best plan.

Have a force readiness over the horizon, in Qatar, or Saudi, or some other garden spot. But get these kids out of Iwreck.

Bless you and your son, you are in our prayers, as are the rest of the troops.

11. And me
My daughter spend a year in Afghanistan. Long story, but she may be deployed to Iraq within a few months. She's currently trying to leave the service after 9 years. There aren't making it easy, in fact, they are going out of their way to make it difficult and miserable, even though technically she should be able to go. I'll post the entire story if she gets safely out, but I'm always a little bit paranoid.

12. It may be just simply too painful for the families to speak out
that's why the rest of us must.

9. God help the families who have soldiers there.
And may God help the families who have lost someone cope with their overwhelming grief.
