Shiite, Kurd, and Sunni Call for ALL Foreign Troops Out in 12 Months
Edited on Tue Nov-22-05 09:09 PM by The Whiskey Priest
"Reaching out to the Sunni Arab community, Iraqi leaders called for a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S.-led forces and said Iraq's opposition had a "legitimate right" of resistance.”

What if Bush and neo-cons don’t want to leave? The neo-con plan was that Iraq would be our big-footprint in the Mid-east. Now it would seem the Iraqis are looking forward to us leaving. What have we gained? Untold billions and 2,100 dead, who knows what the number of disabled is at the moment and at the end of the day, Bush and the neo-cons will have lost Iraq.

The nation was pushed into war and for the better part of two-years supported Bush and Republicans. When support for the war began to fade, Bush and Republicans refused to look at their strategy, or consider any change. We are now faced with an Iraqi government with undetermined intent. The US could well be presented with a country closely tied to the Iranian government and hostile to US interest.

The only thing that can be predicted at this point would be; after all of the American blood and treasure the Republicans have lost Iraq.

They want us out of their country - the leaders, the duly elected or appointed leaders, THEY want US to leave. But wait, we haven't got the oil yet!

9. Yes, they've lost Iraq
Edited on Tue Nov-22-05 09:58 PM by jimshoes
they've lost the spoils, the bases, the oil, the goodwill (which was iffy anyway), their foothold in the region, a sizable chunk of our treasury, 2,100 American troops, everything. Whoever thought they were going to get rich in the new wild west of Iraq is now finding out that they are about to lose everything. They hitched their wagon to this frat boy punk ass loser and now the bottom is falling out. I want my money back from this defective war. And an apology to the families of all the dead soldiers from the criminals that started it and all of America for that matter.

edit to add stuff

Iraqi's of every stripe hate us now, but if we get rid of numbnuts and fix up their country, we could win their hearts again somehow, er maybe not.

10. If the Insurgency groups were smart they would ...
denounce al Z and al Q. and agree to renounce all violence, period. They would be better off in joining the new Govt. and running for various political offices. This would calm the fears of those who insist that a major Civil War would insue if the US/UK Occupation ended. It seems that the US/UK Forces will pull out in a major way by mid '06. A consensus of this is building with the Repubs, Dems in the US, the UK Govt. and the Iraqi Govt.

11. That's all good
but perhaps "we" should renounce all violence that happens in our name. Such as torture in prisons and shock and awe that kills many innocents. Occupying the country is sure not something that the "insurgents" would respect.
The oil men and Haliburton are what are making the cause so unjust.
