About that Pennsylvania kid who shot his girlfriend's parents ........
...... you heard it here first. There's gunna some religious nuttery involved in all this somewhere.

First we heard they come from 'good families'.

Then we hear the 'good families' are good **christian** families.

Then we hear the boy was at odds with the girl's parents.

Then we hear she had a web site with lots of religious stuff on it.

In addition to these kids being just plain old nuts, we're gunna learn that they were religiously abused.

I can hear the cluck-clucking already.

1. You forgot to mention their home schooling.
Why do so many people think that means "freak" every time?

Is it more likely a home schooled kid comes from an antisocial parent, and the situation predisposes them to bizarre behavior?

2. Yeah ... I did forget that ......
.... another clue that religious nuttery could well be afoot.

3. Former homeschool mom here who's anti-social behavior includes protesting
at anti-war demonstrations, confronting military recruiters at my son's current high-school and other bizarre behaviors.

Yep, lump all us homeschoolers into one group.

Why have diversity in education for our kids? Heck, some kids might NOT turn out to be programmed robots.

And my anti-social kid was elected Green Party leader of his large (300) senior class.

Definitely means he is a murdering psychopath...

...dripping sarcasm...

5. Just out of curiosity
What factors made you choose home schooling? What made you stop? I'm sure people choose home schooling for a number of reasons, not all are budding Branch Davidians. I would be interested to hear your perspective.

7. I don't think anyone's saying all home schoolers are trouble, but .......
....... to be sure the overwhelming preponderance of the ones who make news are religious fanatics. Not that all are, but those are the oens who get the public attention .... or are working to make the public aware of their presence and choices.

Again, do't take this as a broad brush statement. But you must admit, homeschooling is yet another clue that religious nuttery **could** be afoot.

4. So where are the pictures ?
Edited on Wed Nov-23-05 12:21 AM by MazeRat7
I want to see their middle class brains blown out all over the furniture. I want to see video of the "perp" telling us about what a sexual deviant she was and how the family "had it coming to them".

Then..just to make it "entertaining"... how about they throw in a clip of grandma jumping from high-rise window and aunt Lucy setting herself on fire...

Oh that would be way better than some lame discourse about their dysfunctional relationships...

*sigh... maybe someday TV "news" will actually get my attention.....
