If America was a Christian Nation... |
|
1. Trickle Down Economics would be abhorred
2. Minorities would never have been oppressed
3. The Rich would not get richer and the Poor would not get poorer
It is the Racial Oppression that Jesus never would have approved of and Rich-Stealing-From-The-Poor Economic Attitude that is proof for me that the United States of America was never a Christian Nation.

|
and to live thier life like him than forcing it down other peoples throat. Excellent post.

2. I'll do you one better: If America were a Christian nation |
|
our founding documents would be set up in such a manner that would clearly and consistantly endorse the religion. Not just vague references to "the god of nature", or the usage of "the year of our lord" to indicate dates...

3. If people followed the teachings of Jesus |
|
they would be tolerant of others, working to help all people be healthy, happy, and content.

4. Minorities would never be oppressed? Are you kinding? Have you |

read the history of Christianity? All those slave owners were Christians. All the people that brought the slaves over here were Christians. And don't forget the oppression of women by almost every major religion.
As for Trickle Down Econ - look at the Christian churches. The buck stops in the priests/preachers pocket. They build big cathedrals. Nice homes for the priests/preachers/nuns. Look at Tammy Faye Baker and her husband. The churches have always gotten the lions share of the cash. They started trickle down econ.
And Jesus may have started Christianity, but it quickly became something Jesus wouldn't like within a couple hundred years.

5. Jesus didn't start Christianity............. |
|
Paul did. Jesus was a Jew, died a Jew, and if he ever comes back, will be a Jew. Nothing wrong with that. I once heard on the radio that Christianity was Judaism gone wrong.

8. "Jesus spoke to me after he died! |
|
And what he told me is nothing like what he told you guys! Believe me, cause my version is easier!" - Paul
