That's right--they're bashing Kent Conrad for being one of those radical Unitarians.

Comments are as of yet still open at the site.

3. UU is a cool religion
I was active in a UU church for a while. The minister was actually an atheist.

4. Thanks for posting this. I haven't heard of this affiliation before. I
found a group locally I hope to attend. That is exactly what I believe. I didn't know it even had a name.

5. They hate him because he is truely effective.
Here's the nasty image from their site:

Now that's just low. He's a fine, fine man. The best. They don't have anyone close within lightyears to his quality in the Republican Party. NO ONE.

14. They're bashing him BECAUSE he has religious affiliation
Trying to keep the myth that Democrats don't believe in God, aren't religious, and want to take God out of every aspect of our lives.

15. I used to attend UU, LOVE that church!
Don't have one nearby right now, next move hopefully will be to a town with an UU church. Love that they are more about the social agenda in the world, and less about bible thumping.

16. When desperation sets in, it's not pretty
They've got nothing left, so I expect this. Attacking someone's religion is one of the lowest things you can do and most people look down on it. It's actually a good sign that they are acting like this, it means they are collapsing even more.

18. This lapsed UU (!) says: This is an abomination in the sight of
everyone. Do you need any clearer evidence that "faith-based" is code for "fundie theocracy"? :scared:

21. I think a lot of the Founding Fathers were Unitarians.
Jefferson, maybe?

When you think about it, for the fundies to attack a UUer on the basis of religion is the height of arrogance.

22. Being from Sen. Conrad's Home State..I can sat that the Freeps
are not going to use the fundie bashing to any good use in North Dakota.
Senator Conrad is a fine man. North Dakotans KNOW this. They truely LOVE him.
Religion has its place in our State, BUT we are quite tolerant of other religions.
NEVER EVER have I known this State to join hands and protest another's religion.
They are actually more likely to turn their backs to any group that tries to smear Senator Conrad based on religion.
It would be like bashing one of their own ancestors. Kent Conrad is one of our own.
Good luck on this one freepers! It simply will not win the GOP any new following. Conrad is like family to the majority of this State, and that means everything here.

23. Agreed.
I campaigned for Kent Conrad and was with him the night he won his Senate seat. He's a good guy. Straight shooter and a decent, likeable fellow.

Lots of luck to the freeptards with this one. Mission impossible.
