Remember way back in 2002 when Repubs didn't like "foreign aid"?
They bitched about the $4 billion to Egypt and Israel. They bitched about the amount we were supposed to give to the UN as our share. They bitched about if we gave any aid to the poor African nations. They simply hated "foreign aid". It was the root cause of all our deficit problems, according to some. We needed to be spending that money at home, they said.

But today, they are as quiet as church mice about the $87 billion dollars going to Iraq? Do they think it is not "foreign aid"? We have never contributed so much foreign aid to any country before. Where's their outrage? But they didn't like "nation building" either? And now we have nation building and foreign aid combined in the biggest hornswoggle since our nation began and they say nothing except, "I support George W Bush 100%!" Can you say hypocrites?

1. you forgot something!!
"Everything changed after 9/11"

Translation: Republicans can be as hypocritical as they damn well want, because they're in charge of the government and any dissent is unpatriotic and everything's gonna be secret because of national security.

Obviously, to be a republican in this day in age is to be a hypocrite to your very core.

2. Yeah, sorta.
But then again, seems I remember a young GWB in 2000 raging against nation-building and stretching our armed forces too thin.

I must be crazy.

3. Isn't The Profits From "Foreign" Aid Supposed To Stay In The US?
Spend any amount where you want, as long as the money is tracked back to a US Corporation. Do that, pay off a few pundits and the money disappears into the Cayman Islands somewhere.
