ACTION ALERT: "just say no" to BushCo's $87 billion request
From Progressive Majority:

ASK QUESTIONS

Conservatives in Congress are going trying to float this 87 billion
dollars as another patriotic gut-check and we cannot let that
happen. We need to let our Senators and Representatives know that
patriotism doesn't mean blindly following Bush's lead – patriotism
means asking questions like What is the exit strategy for Iraq? How
are we going to gather significant international support? What will
the overall cost of rebuilding Iraq going to cost tax-payers?

It's been over a month since Bush first announced his request for $87
billion dollars to rebuild Iraq and we *still* have not seen anything
that outlines this Administration's intentions. With more emails and
pressure on Congress, they'll be able to send a no blank checks
message to Bush. Get your friends, families, and coworkers involved
by clicking on the link below:

DON'T STOP NOW - WE'RE MAKING A DIFFERENCE

More and more Senators and Representatives have started to hint that
they will vote against Bush's plan, no doubt due to all of the noise
progressives are making.

Now is the time to contact Congress and let them know where you stand
on this! It's simple: No plan, No on 87 billion dollars. Click the
link below to tell your Member of Congress to Vote No on Bush's 87
billion dollars.

==================================================

Folks, if we REALLY want to put an end to this war, we need to contact our elected representatives and tell them how we feel. Make them GET A PLAN from ShrubCo before they support another $87bil for Shrub's failed foreign policy. WE CAN DO IT! :toast:

1. Make DEAN get a plan. WTF is his "plan"?
Edited on Thu Oct-16-03 05:06 PM by NewYorkerfromMass
“We cannot lose the peace in Iraq, so we are going to have stay there. We’re stuck there,” he told reporters last month. “We cannot pull all the U.S. troops out of Iraq. We have to stay there for the duration.”

The duration of... what?

From what I can see Dean justs wants to balance the books, saying get the 87b from the tax cuts. Fine. But we're looking for a President, not an accountant.

Oh and that answer came only after his inadequate dodge of the 87b request question when he said that this whole thing was a problem not "of his making".
