Why Hillary??

I admit, she's not my personal choice, but if elected I firmly think she would make a WONDERFUL President.

My question is, why Hillary.

A conservative running against a slighly crazier conservative is not much of a choice. If that's what happens again in 2008, I'll be pleasing myself and writing in the Socialist candidate.

Conservatives in the party have lost us all 3 branches of government for far too long. It's time to consider another alternative.

Any resemblence of democracy that remains is smoke & mirrors.

She would probably be a more than competent president. Maybe not great. I have trouble finding her to be inspiring.

I am thoroughly disgusted with her right hard turn, really, but I know it's part of a master strategery to make her look like a hard ass. Pundits say if a woman is elected, she will be Republican, and at that I say bullshit. The truth is I'd bend over backward to help her get elected. I really would. And having another Clinton in the White House would put the Republicans into a nonstop seizure. I'd give anything to see that.

But we have to get one thing straight. It doesn't matter who our nominee is. Hillary or whoever. The Republicans will pull out the stops to eviscerate them. Hillary won't get it any worse than any other candidate because that's the way Republicans run elections. It is disingenuous to suggest she would be a lightening rod more so than any another other Dem candidate.

What are the chances of that?

Hilary has shown that she's not a good candidate, and has absolutely no interest in leading.

not just more polarization so that we're locked into a death struggle with 50% or even 35% of the population. We need someone who is able to return to a different KIND of politics...one of transparency and honesty. Someone who is populist.

I don't dislike Hillary...but I don't she is those things that we need. I suspect that even if she were to win she'd just further solidify the divisions in this country. And frankly...we need to wake people up, not just push them farther away.

If Hillary were a man no one would consider her as a candidate now. I want someone we'd want regardless of their race or gender.

And if we can find such a person and they happen to be someone who would ALSO advance the cause of equality by representing something other than white males...so much the better. But I don't think Hillary is that person.

You have to ask?

President. Here's the deal: we win back the HOuse and Senate in '06 and impeach/convict both Bush and Cheney. Nancy Pelosi, having become Speaker of the House once it changes hands, now succeeds to becoming our President and the first woman president of the U.S. The only question then is who will she appoint VP? I would like Obama. Wouldn't it be great to so piss off the right wing with both a woman and an African American? They will melt into little puddles like the wicked witches and warlocks that they are!

Hillary has several things going for her:

> She's a Clinton & they always tend to win

> She can play the women card: vote for her or your a sexist pig

> Unlike male Democrats, she can trend pro-life on the abortion question. Democratic men must be pro-choice while a women can get away with making "pro-life" statements.

> She has Southern routes

> It will have been 15 years since Hillary-Care

> The Dems need a win. The population shifting from Blue states to Red states (remember, the 2004 election looked just like the 2000 election, but due to population shifts the Repubs picked up 15 more electoral votes in 2004) By 2012 the Dems may be the permanent opposition party.

Why any Republican at all.
