Bill Press and "How the Republicans Stole Christmas"
I'm watching this on CSPAN.org (you'll have to search for it on the next page or so) and it seems really good so far. He's talking about how he feels his faith has been stolen from him from the "religious right" and how he couldn't have communion as a Catholic since he voted for John Kerry unless he repented. As a Christian liberal democrat I know how it feels to feel like your faith has been stolen from you. I know though I'm not a lone and I go to a great church where politics doesn't mean anything even though I'm sure a lot of the people my age are republican or at least voted for Bush this last time. But try to check out his interview. :D Has anyone else seen it?

1. Saw his segment on C-Span this morning...
I was impressed. I know exactly how he feels, his book should be a good one. Was surprised he spent a few years in a Seminary, wanted to become a priest. He took some really bad calls, but handled them well. I've always liked Bill Press - guess he's just too liberal for our MSM these days. My Diocese came out against John Kerry...one of their own. It's caused me a lot of grief, Bill Press just put my feelings, into words.

3. I'm enjoying it

I'm listening to the first call and the guy going on and on about how republicans are all over the country and Bush was "elected" by the people with 51% of the vote (48% John Kerry so hardly any sort of "win"!) and the guy is saying this country is a conservative country. LOL and the guy is saying it will never go to Nancy Pelosi running the House of Reps. LOL. Wait until 2006! And he said he could imagine Nancy Pelosi has president of the United States. Heck ya! Her and Barbara Boxer! I'd rather have Nancy than Hillary! And that can very well happen if we take back the House and Senate next year!!! And he said they controlled the media. Hehe! And it's not blame: it's accountability! Yes!

Great T.V. I was surfing channels and found it. I will say tho', some of the callers to the show had my "hackles" up! It's unbelievable how many simple minded freepers are still out there that swallow this drivel hook, line and sinker, all under the guise of Christianity. I feel as you do; not only has my beloved America been stolen, but my faith as well as my and my grandchildren's futures! I would advise all to try and catch this show if it repeats.

4. But there is still hope out there
I found this great Christian board that has a section for us liberals. You can join if you want at http://www.christianforums.com It's a really nice and mature place. I'm enjoying it there so far! And people like Bill Press give me hope too. I do agree that if a democrat is religious and his religion does play a role with his politics (like Tim Kaine) he shouldn't be afraid to talk about it but it shouldn't be what you use to make policies (like with the fundies on "ID" and Roe v Wade). Oh and he mentioned my town was having his show come on the radio. Does anybody know if his show has an official website to listen live?

12. I am beginning to believe that without the Fundies, the GOP would
never have become so corrupt.

5. The question will come out "are you better off than 4 years ago"
And the vast majority of the working class are hurting. They've been hit hard by W's policies and their kids are dying in W's war. Enough will be enough as they replace this phony global theocrat with someone who cares about this country.

I remember Bill talking about his website. You just can't make up things people say, during the call-in. They keep me awake at night!

11. And more people were freepers of course
*sigh* But he did great! And he made the same point I do about gay people with our society. Jesus didn't talk about gay people and they surely were around back than (since Paul talked about them) so if Jesus didn't find it a high priority why should I? I can't wait until he starts having podcasts though since I think his show comes on way too early for me (we do get it here though!). :( Did anybody see the guy from the Heritage Foundation and on WMDs?
