HeatDish... Potable Electic Heater.
I bought one today from Costco and I cannot believe the heat this thing throw out! It only run on 1000wt, Feels like three times the heat!!! This heater is computer designed parabolic reflector focuses energy like satellite dish... so it feels much warmer than convection heaters. Heat is virtually INSTANT Heat without first heating the room. The cost at Costco was $56.00 and it's the best money I ever spent on anything!!! WOW!

Anyone here own one of these heater?

1. I have owned 2 in the past.....
Edited on Sun Nov-27-05 02:14 AM by Nevilledog
and had both of them burn out within about a year after purchase. Got them both from Costco, also. Never replaced them because we moved to a house with better heating.

edit to add: They did a great job heating though. We used them in our computer room, and the house was over 100 years old and very drafty. We might have just overused them.

4. Beware high line voltage
That will take one out fast. Voltage should be 117-120V.

I once lived at the beginning of a long rural power line. In the winters they fed me 125 volts so folks at the end of the line would get 115 under winter load.

Hard on light bulbs and surge suppressors for sure!

3. I have three electric heaters for my apartment
Its in a old house so its pretty cold and the gas heaters are not that efficient. So I am going electric. Though none of them are of the type you are describing. Got a Holmes quart heater for the kitchen, another Holmes forced air electric for the living room and a Homlmes radiator for the bedroom. I got all Holmes heaters because the fourth electric heater I have is over seven years old made by Holmes and it still kicks ass. I have put it into the emergency category now because it doesn't have a digital thermostat that you can set.
