Plamegate: Viveca Novak supboenaed
Tim Russert said this morning that Viveca Novak of TIME was subpoenaed by Fitzgerald.

Anyone know anything about this?

7. Apparently not related to Bob Novak(ula).
#10 - chill..and everyone else, for that matter - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT:
F.Y.I. - I sent an email to Viveca Novak, via Time’s website, and asked her is she was related to Robert Novak…she replied, as below:

No, I’m not related in any way to the man referred to by many as the Prince of Darkness, nor to any other Novak you’ve ever heard of. I get the question all the time and understand why, given the current investigation, people might be curious. Hopefully I’d have the sense to recuse myself from covering the story if we were kin.
Thanks - Viveca Novak

you see - it doesn’t hurt to ask!

19. Agreed. I deem it credible for two reasons.
Edited on Sun Nov-27-05 04:52 PM by TahitiNut
(1) After searching, I found NOTHING credible on the web to indicate any relationship (daughter, sister, neice, wife) to Bob Novak.

(2) The use of language in the 'reply' is classy and appropriate. The tone is believable and the style and grammar are just right.

Otherwise, I wouldn't usually cite some anonymous posting to some blog, even a left wing blog.

She also won the 1993 Investigative Reporters and Editors Award for a piece on big-dollar donors to George Bush's presidential campaign, as well as the 1990 Sigma Delta Chi Award for Public Service in Magazine Journalism for a package of money-and-politics stories.

Novak has been a guest on various programs on CNN, Fox, MSNBC, CNBC, NBC, BBC, C-Span and various radio stations nationwide. A shifting probe?

If there are culprits in the White House who leaked the identity of CIA operative Valerie Plame, they may now be dependent on reporters to protect their identities.

12. Dunno
Russert mentioned it this morning on MTP. That was the first I had heard of it and I can't find any news items on it at all.

13. I have always wondered, since Russert is involved in this
case, should he be blabbing about it on his show every week? I would think that Fitzgerald would tell him to put a muzzle on it until the case is over.

Just watch. Russert is so stupid (and so cocky,) that he will say something on camera (and on tape,) that will play right into our guy's hands. :woohoo:
