"Life" BOYCOTT expands: Komen Breast Cancer foundation, Nike, Tommy...

WASHINGTON, Nov. 28 /Christian Wire Service/ -- Life Decisions International (LDI) will release a revised edition of The Boycott List on Thursday, December 1, 2005. The List identifies corporations that are boycott targets due to their support of Planned Parenthood, the world's primary abortion-advocacy group.

"So far, as a direct result of the commitment, action and prayers of pro-family people, a minimum of 122 corporations have agreed to stop funding the abortion-committing goliath," said Thomas Strobhar, chairman of LDI's Board of Directors. It is estimated that the boycott has cost Planned Parenthood more than $35 million since the Corporate Funding Project (CFP) began nearly 14 years ago. "This should be a testament to those who believe it is impossible to change corporate philanthropic behavior."

Corporations slated to appear on The Boycott List for the first time include: AIG (financial/insurance), Altria (Phillip Morris, Nabisco, and Kraft products, Post cereals, etc.), Circuit City (retail electronics outlet), Cost Plus World Market (retail stores), Price Chopper/Mini Chopper (supermarkets/convenience stores), New World Restaurant Group (Chesapeake Bagel Bakery, Einstein Bros Bagels, Manhattan Bagel, etc.), Nike (apparel/footwear, etc.), Tommy Hilfiger (apparel, etc.), and SBC Communications (AT&T, Cingular Wireless, Southwestern Bell, etc.), among others.

The new Boycott List will include a revised "Dishonorable Mention" section, which identifies charitable groups that are associated with Planned Parenthood and/or its agenda. Among the groups to be named in the section are The American Cancer Society, Camp Fire, The Dr. Phil Foundation, Girls Inc., Girl Scouts, Rotary Clubs, The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and the YWCA.

LDI has intensified its research into companies that operate in a limited area. A revised list of local/regional boycott targets may be found at: http://fightpp.org/show.cfm?page=regional. "We ask all people who care about life to visit this page and determine which businesses in their area are supporting Planned Parenthood," Strobhar said. "We urge picketing, letter-writing, and personal visits to these establishments. It's important for pro-family people to let these entrepreneurs know how they feel."

"As LDI President Douglas R. Scott said in his book, Bad Choices: A Look Inside Planned Parenthood, 'The Pro-Life Movement will succeed only to the extent that pro-life people are willing to be inconvenienced.' As for me, the very lives of children are worth that much effort and a whole lot more," Strobhar said.

2. And the Rotary Club!
Evidently these people want folks to spend money at church exclusively.

6. I appreciate them doing research for me
saves me time. If they're against something, it probably isn't all bad.

7. I hate to break it to these idiots
but abortions are a small fraction of the services which Planned Parenthood offices around the country provide, especially to those of lower income. When I didn't have health insurance, my yearly exams were at the local Planned Parenthood. It's also a great place to get birth control, which helps to avoid abortions in the long run. :eyes:

Women's health is impacted when those like the above don't have critical thinking skills. One would think that those worshiping at the cult of the fetus would understand, for instance, that if a woman is not able to obtain the necessary pre-natal care due to financial need, her child will be directly affected. Then again, I'm sure they don't think about this. It's more important to get those baby killers.

Looks like it's time to donate to Planned Parenthood again...

Julie

11. Women shouldn't have the freedom to sin that Planned Parenthood supports.
The next thing you know they will be offering that cervical cancer shot to little girls so they can feel free to have...errr relations before marriage.

Here's your sign. :sarcasm:

13. Oh, that's one of my current head explosions
>that cervical cancer shot to little girls so they can feel free to have...errr relations before marriage.<

That's right. The future boyfriends or husbands of those little girls, though, are free to do as they please, using protection or not. They will just unknowingly pass the disease onto the females in their lives. Cervical cancer's mortality rate, if I recall correctly, is very, very high.

With the percentage of infidelity among spouses in a post September 11th world, :eyes: it would be good for ALL women to get the above shot. Unfortunately, though, appeasing the abstinence only* crowd is much more important.

Julie

*I thought, according to the church crowd, sex after marriage was okay. Is it only okay for Republicans now? I'm confused. :eyes:

They do breast exams and mammograms as well.

14. They don't care about women's health. Or children's health.
Contraception, pre-natal, post-natal, any of it.

Their Gawd put us women-folk on the planet solely to poop out as many biscuits as possible -- evidenced by that 39 year old woman who recently delivered her 16th -- any kind of birthin' knowledge to them is sacrilege.

17. I just checked out their website;
And the nuts who are in charge of the Portland OR chapter have put up close to 100 businesses. What happened? Did someone send out a cute questionare and one of the questions was 'Do you support abortion'? and these are the only businesses who answered? Freaking crazy.

I got your link from

http://www.democraticunderground.com/

which is a left leaning blog site. There are a great number of people who are planning to do nothing BUT buy products from your banned list. If you want to lessen abortions, get sex education to teenagers. Staying virgins may work for some, but for the vast majority they are going to screw whether you know about it or not. At least give them knowledge and birth control. This alone will greatly lessen unwanted pregnancies. The 11th and 12th centuries were pretty terrible times. Stop acting like you want to return there with all the related problems.

20. Cool -
if the list gets long enough, they can spend all their time growing their own food and making hand tools.

Maybe that would keep them busy enough to stay out of other folks business.
