This WAS a DUer's car
I took this photo yesterday, but today the car has been removed. It's a few blocks away from my damaged home. I've often wondered what happened to that person, whose stickers always made me smile as I drove past.

6. It's a darn shame that SOMEBODY
Lifted the car's plate...or it'd easily be sorted who that car belonged too.

15. It's illegal to remove license plates. Mine were stolen once...
My first car. Aged 16. The local bully who really loved using me as a punchin' bag took them, I couldn't think of anyone else - apart from one or two other bullies.

I reported them to the police, but never heard back. Still, at least my name was removed from them so my driving record wouldn't be hit.

Of course, the snotty cop asked "How will you get new ones?" (I refrained from a smartalecky comment, though I had thought of 5 distinctly good ones...) He may have been having a tough day and hated wussy teenagers too.

17. sorry, photobucket resized it
The DU sticker is almost worn off. The Bush/Orwell one is recognizable enough...there's also the village idiot one.

16. I can't figure it out
there was another heavily damaged car in front of it, but there weren't any fallen trees in the area. It was usually parked in that general area, but I guess it floated a little.

18. Appears to have been parked.
You can see the water lines on the windows where the water settled as it receded. In all likelihold this car was completely submerged at the height of the flood.

I'm not sure about the rear end damage, but a lot of stuff was floating and banging around during the storm. Most likely the car is where it started but something floating bashed into it to do the non-flood damage that's visible.

24. My daughter and boyfriend from NO were here last week.
Edited on Mon Nov-28-05 07:15 PM by TNDemo
He lives in Jefferson Parish and says things are basically back to normal there and it is easy to forget what things are like on the east bank. They drove through and took pictures and brought them with them. It was really so sad and the boats piled at the marina were unbelievable. My daughter is in BR but plans to move to NO in the spring. Here's to the recovery. :toast:

23. Whoever the loser was
that damaged that car needs to rot in jail for a LONG time.

I feel sorry for the owner.

I hope the owner of that Avalon buys his/her next car from a company that has better labor and political records than Toyota.
