Why I am concerned about Bush, the UN, and the Yen vs. the Dollar

Bush is in Japan right now getting drunk on some Sake. However, before his escapades, he and Prime Minister Koizumi had a conference about a variety of topics.

Here is what Prime Minister Koizumi said:

<According to Japanese officials, Mr. Koizumi urged Mr. Bush to work more within the United Nations structure, citing the vote on Thursday on Iraq as an example of how the United States can use the institution "as a bridge" to support its goals in Iraq and the greater Middle East. >

and here is how Bush responded:

<Mr. Bush, the Japanese official said, responded by describing the United Nations as an aging and slow institution, and made no commitments. American officials, in briefing reporters, made no mention of any discussion of the United Nations.>

Is Bush going to pull out of the UN if he is re-elected? That's the feeling I'm getting. That's very scary.

It is also very hypocritical of Bush. It shows that Bush is just an opportunist and doesn't really respect the UN.

There is also the Yen vs. the Dollar

I am very happy that the Yen is low right now. If US automakers refuse to make environmentally friendly cars, then I am just going to buy a hybrid car for an inexpensive price.

However, I would like American workers to have better job opportunities. I am also concerened about the Trade Deficit.

I am just ranting.
