Not only that, 2005 has been the deadliest year yet for US
troops, the 2005 tally so far roughly equaling combined deaths
for the prior deadliest years: 2003 and 2004.

now that President Bush has announced, albeit three years late, a "strategy for victory" in Iraq (albeit "a war strategy for a six year old," as atrios put it), perhaps he could also formulate one for Afghanistan.
