Hillary will become a perfect....
Edited on Wed Nov-30-05 02:24 AM by Zinfandel
excuse for hundreds of thousands of us to vote for a third party candidate in 2008. I've voted for a democrat in every election, (and I've never missed an election on ANY level) since I turned 18 in 1972 and voted for George McGovern. (And I donated to Hillary's past campaign, even though I am from CA, because I like her much needed idea's for a universal health care plan for this country, but, first, she would need to get elected and I don't feel she could).

With Bush's approval dropping as fast as a huge piece of lead...Any Dem looks good right now and will seem able to beat the next republican...But the next republican nominee will be starting somewhat from scratch...(Unless, it's Jeb BUSH) and will distance themselves from Bush if necessary, and it will change, and it's going to change in a heartbeat. Keep in mind, the moderates and their vote can be changed in the blink of the eye!

But I promise you, IF Hillary is the Democratic nominee, I and so many others will donate, support and vote for the Green party and/or another progressive, liberal candidate that will be running...

The democrats have been do-nothing corporate piles of shit themselves, most afraid to rock the BushCo boat. If McCain or ole Jebbie becomes president for the next eight years and then Arnold for the following eight years...it won't make a bit of difference, (of course it will really)...

However, I feel, the republicans already have the 2008 election fixed anyway, right now...They have their voting machines strategically in place and ready for 2008 -- It will simply be a different state stealing the election again, Florida & Ohio were used effectively & respectively in the past two presidential elections. Of course, a different state (for the 2008 election) will have to be a somewhat large electoral state, as well as have both a republican Governor and Secretary of State, (that's a must)...

Unfortunately, when, (and) if and Hillary gets the nomination, it will be the perfect opportunity for me and so many of us to say, finally, fuck-you to the democratic party forever. We are far too deep into fascist corporatism and it's ugly cousin, imperialism, for it to ever just go away...It won't be much longer anyway, the Greens will probably be outlawed in the not too distant future.

Ex republican and now "moderate" Hillary's name will probably just become trivia answer (winning 49%, perhaps)....While so many other liberals, progressives, Religious nuts, republicans, fascist, democratic sexist, moderates, etc. etc... will be voting for someone, anyone, other than Hillary, most probably for McCain, but again, it really doesn't matter, the fascist will not give up the presidency, what do they have to lose by stealing it, (again)!! Hillary will only make it easier for them...(It's already in the bag)...Hillary... and the republican owned electronic voting machines will just guarantee it!

1. A Republican friend and I joked with each other
that if it's Hillary vs McCain in 2008, both of us are staying home.

Funny, but I expected to end your sentence with

Hillary will become a perfect... storm.

9. He recognized that Bush's cronyism with Meiers, but mostly
he supports Bush. I don't think my friend still thinks that Bush might turn out to be the best prez ever anymore though.

He doesn't like any of the moderate Republicans, and wishes they would get out of his party.

Neither one of us likes McCain much because we don't see him as having alot of principles.

I asked my friend if it were a choice between McCain and Lieberman, who he'd vote for. He said he could almost get himself to vote for Lieberman over his own party member.

He stopped being an official Republican though when his party asked him to support Dole. He is a Conservative, he says, not a Republican.

But I do think he mostly supports Bush. I also think he remains underinformed, though he would disagree.

3. But if the republicans own the voting machines and it is already
in the bag, then any Dem candidate will lose, so why pick on Hillary.

8. You have every right to vote the way you wish.
You can vote for "Mickey Mouse" is you wish. Both Mickey and a Green candidate have an equal chance of being elected.

I have the same right, and I NEVER agree conpletely with ANY candidate, but I know I sure don't want another Pub in the WH!

Hillary has her faults, and so does every candidate, but if she is the candidate, I will fight to get her elected.

I hope to change your mind between now and 08 because I don't want another 3rd party candidate to siphon votes from any Dem.

11. Hillary is being nothing other than Bush lite
Why not vote for a Hillary-Lieberman ticket and let the true Democratic party die. We'll just go for GOP and GOP lite?

No thanks. I won't donate.

14. I've voted third party before and I'll do it again if Hillary is nominated
I could argue that all those Democrats are doing the party a disservice to support Hillary's nomination simply because she is slightly better than the Republican alternative. This will give the DLC more power, and will reinforce the morbid behavior of the Democratic party playing the part of Republican-lite. Democrats need to keep losing until they learn to stand up for the people that support them, and not the plutocracy that runs this country.

This not only means that I won't vote for Hillary if she is nominated, but I will vote for the Republican alternative if he is moderate. Is this a ridiculous move? Yes...but so is having Hillary Clinton representing the Democratic party when she supports most of the Republican platform.
