European investigations of CIA "black site" .proliferate. I heard

some discuss that this is classified information (whatever the information is -I do not know)---that Dems should not be talking about this.

European investigations of CIA "black site" prisons and detention policies proliferate. The NYT and WaPo report that the State Department is responding to increasingly urgent inquiries from European allies, but ... would we be surprised to learn that the State Department is being kept in the dark? If there's one things scholars of the Reagan administration know, it's that it's sometimes better not to know, right?

So by the same token any European government that allows the CIA flights to operate without making some attempt to investigate and curtail them is in theory acting illegally, it seems, and may be open to prosecution by its own citizens, as is being attempted in the UK.

2. Thanks, no. But it seems that the Right is trying to turn is issue inside

out or upside down--going after people to talk about it-cause classifies.
Heard this on some talk show briefly last evening (sorry, tv was on in the background so i did not catch it all).

3. I'll point out once again that we are becoming (or have become) an

international pariah (as an ally) and no different that the Soviet Union was. Including the treatment it meted out to its own citizens.
