The most astounding shilling I've seen on CNN came from Ben Nelson
Edited on Wed Nov-30-05 10:50 AM by DeepModem Mom
He was the first non-CNN person to come on the air. He had a neutral to positive reaction to the speech, W, and the war. Miles O'Brian made his comment about Dems wanting to cut and run, I think, to get Nelson to say something resembling an opposition party response to the speech. When Miles finally asked him if there was something in the speech he wanted to hear but didn't, he said something about "metrics," which I think is a military term.

There was no Republican spokesperson. None was needed.

4. I was thinking about that just the other day- I heard someone on TV
describe some moderate right-wing sort as "the type of person we should be listening to right now". Why? He was either so stupid that he belived the Bush propaganda, or he was dishonest enough to be a part of it. Either way, he's not the ideal voice to be listening to.

Three years ago, we were supposed to ignore the critics and listen to the neocons and hawks. They turned out to be a bunch of con men and idiots, so now we're supposed to listen to... not the people who turned out to be *right*, but... reformed neocons and hawks.

It's stupid.
