Completely Insane Bush Cheerleader US Rep from Florida on NPR
Just heard US Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen interviewed on NPR about Junior's pep rally this morning, and boy is she bat shit crazy.

http://www.house.gov/ros-lehtinen/

I'm paraphrasing her statments, because they don't have the interview up on NPR's site yet.

She said that the notion that we are creating violence is false, because there was violence in the form of 9/11 before we ever went into Iraq. So when liberals say that we're creating terrorists by being in Iraq they are wrong, because there were terrorists that attacked us on 9/11 way before we ever went to Iraq.

:wtf:

How does anyone follow that logic, let alone support it?

Wow.....just.....wow.....

3. Absolutely pathetic...
For once I actually just don't even know what to say. I'm totally stunned that people voted for someone who says shit like that.

8. I wonder if she actually believes this or is repeating old talking points
I tend to think the former. It starts with lies at the top and trickles down to the masses, who accept what they are told on face value without verifying. Of course, the connection between Iraq and 9/11 has been repeatedly disproved, but it is a powerful idea that can't seem to be shaken from the public conscienceness. The true Bushbots are hanging on to this idea (perhaps) because doing otherwise might lead them to question their great leader.

15. Oh, she believes it all right...
She also went on and on about how the media distorts our successes there.

Said when she comes home from being there and sees the media reports here, she wonders if she went to a different country than the Iraq that our media reports on.

Trying going outside the green zone honey, let's see how you like it out there with the masses!

Again, :wtf:

2. Well it has to do with good and evil
Terrorists are evil and are going to be evil no matter what we do. Good people are good and are going to be good no matter what we do. So worrying about conditions that might turn good people into terrorists is kind of meaningless. Good people, by definition, don't turn into terrorists.

Everybody is set in stone.

Yeah, it doesn't make a lot of sense.

4. Because there was violence before, we can invade a noninvolved country?
therefore, we are NOT creating disorder in Iraq, we are preserving it. (thank you, Mr. Mayor)

I guess she took the same classes as Rep Cunningham who said his 2.4 million in bribes was a small mistake in judgment.

5. Let me get this straight, US forces are not creating violence in Iraq...
Edited on Wed Nov-30-05 11:39 AM by wake.up.america
because of 9/11?

So if American troops are not creating violence in order to defeat terrorists why are we there? A M160B tank creates a lot of violence as far as I know. Are the Americans requesting people to kill themselves by over dosing on sleeping pills?

US presence does not contribute to the creation of "terrorists"?
Those who attack US forces are called by Bush "terrorists".
So, does she disagree with Bush?

6. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen is part of the Cuban bourgeois element in the GOP
She's a hard-core RWer, and can be counted upon to support ANYTHING the GOP does, so long as they pay homage to her sacred cow of trying to overthrow Castro and installing the helpless and worthless Cuban elite to their previous place as the parasites of Cuban society.

She's identical to the Diaz-Balarts in this regard.

9. ileana ros-lehtinen's father was a "batistiano" ...
Edited on Wed Nov-30-05 11:44 AM by flordehinojos
just like the bushes who grew up with the familu values of a Prescott Bush who financed and banrolled Hitler and his killing machine, Ros-Lehtinen and the Diaz-Balarts (whose uncle after whom Lincoln Diaz-Balart is named) were Batistianos and part of the Batista killing machine in Cuba. Those were the values and "good times" with which they grew up and they will support, defend, and uphold anything that, and anyone who, takes us there.

edited to add: it is not the first time, nor will it be the last, the ros-lehtinen twists and spins the truth.

12. Did you hear that too?
My ears are bleeding!

How on earth are these people able to do it? How do they manage to continue talking like this with a straight face month after month, year after year? They're either supreme liars or among the stupidest people in America.

Somebody explain how her BS could be taken seriously at this point! How can she take herself seriously?

I woke up to that bullshit! I've got my alarm clock set to NPR, and that's what immediately came on.

Thought maybe I had just had a really confusing and scary nightmare.
